“We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic.”

‘Into the Mystic’, Van Morrison

To begin with, I would like to remind you all that Uranus takes about 84 years to orbit the Sun (I call this a macro cycle) and so pass through all 12 zodiac signs (an average of 7 years per sign, which I call a micro cycle), therefore there will be an 84 year gap between iterations of Uranus in Gemini which means there will be one or sometimes two periods of it per century. I have previously written a long rambling post about the essential meaning of Uranus, an article on Uranus in Scorpio and an article on collective astrology which covers the influence of Uranus through the signs. There is also an article on the nature of the sign Gemini. Each of these articles can help to place what I write below into context. The passage I am about to quote is taken from my article on collective astrology, reprinted here for ease of reference:

“The Uranus cycles are the ones we have to truly expand our minds to grasp. They are currently cycles connected with the integration of technology and human awareness since they resonate with the pace of innovation within the prevailing paradigm (which is scientific in our case), and given that the macro cycle is positioned towards the upper limit of our life span it also has resonance with the potential totality of conscious awareness that is present in human beings. In other words, it expresses the point at which the elastic nature of human awareness reaches its natural limits and begins to snap unless it radically adapts. It is difficult to remember everything (anything?) or even to care about the latest new thing when so much has already happened. By the time we are in our 80s the world has changed so radically from when we came in that it is almost unrecognisable, and we are struggling to keep up. Think on that – think of the struggle someone in their 80s has coming to terms with the fact that when they were born almost nobody had TV except the very rich, then they look up and contrast with today. Now, people have their own channels – and we just took one example. Its a total mindbomb nobody back then could have seen coming, and thats what awaits us all at the end of this cycle. Think on where you came into the world, now picture that accelerated far beyond your imagination. This is the spirit of the macro cycle. It is also part of the Great Work that is woven into reality by the Greaters.

This fact – that nobody can project crazily enough into the future to foresee the end of this macro cycle once it begins – is one of the greatest dangers facing us in our use of technology and scientific innovation. Our embrace of technology as an avatar of change and a bringer of solutions to our dilemmas is loaded with unforeseen consequences that we will only see play out fully if we reach a ripe old age, and this is what we need to realise – that only these people have this wisdom, and thus their alienation is part of our doom because we do not learn what they have learned, and just repeat the same mistakes on an elevated scale. Thus, the Uranus macro cycle is very much about how we treat our elders – will they be able to transmit what they have learned from their turn with (for example) Uranus in Scorpio to the newly born children of Uranus in Scorpio, or will that voice be lost because they are no longer seen as having a functional role in society?

This connection to the elderly is because the Uranus macro cycle is in a 3:1 resonance with the Saturn cycle – one orbit of Uranus around the Sun is equal to 3 orbits of Saturn. The third Saturn return and the Uranus return combine to bring to us an awareness of life coming to an end but also of having come back to the beginning. Therefore, the macro cycles of Saturn and Uranus intertwine about human awareness as it interacts with time and form the core or basis of collective or generational astrology. We might (as I propose) have to add Chiron to that heart of the matter, only time will tell.

The Uranus micro cycle is one quarter of the Saturn macro cycle, placing Uranus in resonance with Saturn on both scales. As mentioned previously, the 7 year scale of the micro cycle is resonant with generations we encounter in our schooling when we are young, and exactly when in the 7 year period we are born has a lot to do with the quality of social environment we encounter in school years. If we are born in the middle of the period, with Uranus in the middle of the sign, everyone we go to school with will be of the same collective mind and will easily form bonds (which can have an effect on sports teams, for example). If however we are born at the end or beginning of the period (with Uranus at the beginning or end of a sign) there will be more clashes in the early social environment, perhaps more ‘us and them’ cliquishness, with some groups being potentially very tiny and thus alienated, particularly when you add classroom division into the equation. However, this is a healthier environment in terms of variety and the kind of creativity that arises from chaos rather than co-operation. Its a matter of perspective, but also of recognising the different generations and finding ways to cater to both at the same time – then the magic is often remarkable and outstrips that of those with a more vanilla flavoured upbringing.

The micro cycle delineates a ‘techno-cult’ of some kind that forms around new technology and the first children to be exposed to it. Something new is introduced which has rapid and irreversible consequences for society, and what that is will be resonant with the sign that Uranus is in. It is important to understand what a technology is in the eyes of this planet, however – it is not necessarily a gadget or an invention, it can also be an ideal that drives societies, a ‘new wave’ of any kind or a major shock or collapse that forces movement in new directions, often on multiple trajectories. It leads to a new kind of meaning to things entering play. I have a theory that gatherings of the tribe bring about a rapid acceleration of change – that if you want to make a big, quick change, you get everyone with Uranus in a certain sign to be your ally. Rallies and demonstrations that are organised with a mind to emphasising the breakthrough potential of this planet may have a greater chance of forcing change, but that change may well be out of their control. This is why I have not spent much time writing about it. I feel we should work with Jupiter, Saturn and Chiron first. These also represent easier cycles to wield in intentional directions.”

Below I present you with 1200 years of occurrences of Uranus in Gemini, followed by an extensive collection of happenings within these periods that resonate with the astrological meaning or which I have identified as recurring patterns in the history even if they do not match the astrological meaning at first glance. Long and detailed though it is, I do not present this as an authoritative or conclusive document but merely as a starting point for people wishing to do their own research into this pattern and its historical significance. I will try to identify what I perceive as the main themes in this history after the presentation of the information and will then discuss the implications of these themes for the children of Uranus in Gemini along with their interaction with other Uranian clans.

It is notable that the only living people with Uranus in Gemini alive today are advanced in their years having been born in the 1940s. This also means that the discussion of Uranus in Gemini which takes place in this article is relevant for anyone wishing to understand the near future, specifically the latter half of the 2020s and the beginning of the 2030s, since this will be the next period that Uranus is in Gemini. In that time we’re going to see a major acceleration and development of the themes of this pattern. It is also notable that Uranus in Gemini is a major factor in the astrology of Donald Trump and that it goes a long way to explaining a great deal of his more erratic behaviour.

Here are some of the significant events from these periods, with more information presented in later years mostly due to the density of the historical record as time advances:

Sifting these elements we can reduce them to a number of overarching themes. A big one is connected with currencies and global trade (and its connection to travel and transport), and this seems intertwined with another huge theme, the build up in history towards the current information age. In fact its only in the context of our modern age that we can look back and see the connection as these themes lead to that but begin as more distinct and separate threads. There are also voyages of discovery, often with unforeseen and catastrophic twists, and sailing in this period was not particularly safe in earlier ages. The inventions, breakthroughs and technologies which fuel Uranus in Gemini themes are connected with these areas of trade, globalisation and frontier discovery – it produces city states with huge populations, educational reforms and institutions, the automobile and jet engine, transportation and navigational instruments, clocks, legal codes, encryption, ciphers and alphabets, computers, portable power supplies, atomic power, satellites, cell phones and instant cameras. Generally there is a big ‘SCIENCE!!’ theme overall with inventions that involve seeing and hearing, motion, counting, energy dynamics, communication, data storage (such as DNA), mathematics, computing and electronics. Sometimes things are invented twice by different cultures (either in parallel or centuries apart from one another, like eyeglasses) and there is also the theme of accidental discoveries and/or of mistakes being made in initial observations (Uranus being discovered twice and accidentally catalogued as a star is a prime example). The technologies and discoveries often bring rapid, uncontrollable and controversial social change. It’s likely that the next iteration of this pattern (2025-2033) will bring a wave of drones in the sky that will play a major role in reshaping global economies, communications and transportation. It seems also likely to bring the age of quantum computing and/or civilian space travel and advances in machine intelligence/robotics (especially their mobility), and 3D printing will likely become commonplace in technological societies. Socially and culturally the themes are a mix of the extremely dark and the very light and trivial – holocaust and genocide, use of firearms by civilians, subjugation and slavery, forced conversions, prohibitions, airborne pathogens that spread quickly, heresies and condemnations, secret societies and conspiratorial deals, destructive winds and storms, air pollution (industrial and electronic as well as in the mental sense of the Air Element), pedagogic cons, ransoms, robberies, revolts against oppression (often by peasants or an underclass), improved rapid response nursing care and emergency aid, tea and other socially polite customs and etiquette, cricket, horse racing, odd couplings and marriages, gossip or controversy involving siblings, the modern faerie tale, operas and musicals. We also see socially revolutionary, counterculture or fringe movements gaining ground, like the suffragettes, gay rights, synthetic drug use and the birth of the modern UFO conspiracy theory.

In my article on Gemini I identified the key themes and patterns of the sign as I perceive them, and we can see some of them in the themes revealed by history:

• The Electric and Magnetic Fluids
• The Pattern which emerges from their interplay
• The quest for immortality or eternal youth
• The concept of order as a balancing factor working indivisibly with chaos
• Good and evil, right and wrong, falsehood and truth
• Choice and dilemma
• The balance between social rule and social liberty
• Gossip, innuendo and rumour; intrigue at court, the media
• Buying and selling, news and speculation, arts and sciences
• Protection while travelling
• The perceptive and cognitive functions of the brain

What we get with the planet Uranus in Gemini is a combination of disruption, revolution, complication, breakthrough, acceleration, rapid advancement and polarisation in these themes and patterns. The people born into these eras are generations which become focused on new forms of communication and new social frontiers. Original and inventive ideas spring to life among them empowered by the technological gifts of Uranus in Gemini, which also serve up complicated multiple choice puzzles and factional or ideological contrasts between different ideas. Keywords of the changes this generation bring to the world are quick comprehension, fast communication, bizarre interests, short lived pursuits, wide debate, sharp eccentric wits and restless inquiry. Due to their mental restlessness they generally travel a great deal, and are more inclined to be immigrants or settlers far beyond their native land, putting them in touch with large numbers of people. These contacts are on the whole quite friendly but undeveloped, mostly being on the level of acquaintances. The development of travel (the train, automobile, passenger boats and the commercial jet plane) lead this generation not just to social interaction far beyond what was known before, but also to mixing of the human genetic material in ways which were previously unheard of. They are the progenitors of a new way of thinking, possessed of brilliant intuitive but reasoned minds, pioneers of new ways of communicating, doing business, educating and socialising, but also of new racial and cultural backgrounds from which these things emerge. They also tend toward extreme restlessness, having a vast number of ideas to process which arrive in clusters all at once, and tend toward growing quickly bored and moving on to the next exciting idea or fad. A constant need for motion swirls and eddies among them, bringing the scent of far off curiosities and displacing them from one forest of flowers to another. In order to follow their revolutionary and inventive ideas through they will need more self discipline from somewhere else in the chart. The alchemical procedure associated with Gemini is Fixation, the operation of making a volatile subject fixed or solid so that it remains permanently unaffected by fire. Thus, the operation of Uranus in Gemini is to apply this alchemy to the human collective. This is why they are often split – the task is to join the hands of The Twins in the human collective awareness. Thus, social equality becomes a focus and the clan works towards the day when women and men, gay and straight and everything human that is divided into two have equal access and are accorded equal respect by human society.

They are similar to Uranus in Libra in this agenda, except that they are not focused on the end product of actively creating or striking the balance – instead Uranus in Gemini people are process focused, busy with opening up the discourse and the dialogue so that clear and specific information is shared throughout the collective, because it is only through talking to one another that we can achieve the ends of social equality. Sometimes, this means sharply establishing the boundaries which separate different ideas and thus to social schisms as underlying differences become divisive and commonplace challenges. Groups form saying “daylight is awesome!”, which immediately gives rise to the formation of a group which says “night is awesome!”. From there, we run into trouble as one or other of the groups usually then says that their concept is better. It is this situation which Uranus in Gemini enjoys making chaos with the most. The impact of Uranus in Gemini on this regrettable situation is to cause the polarisations to multiply beyond counting or keeping track of, so that the group backing daylight divides itself into numerous groups backing the individual hours of the day, and each of those groups divide into smaller groups backing the individual minutes of those hours, and this happens across the board. This is the way that Uranus in Gemini has of saying “forget your black-and-white world, it’s really not that simple!”. This is his way of poking us with a stick and telling us to sort out the problems that we have with each other so that we can share our vastly different ideas without feeling threatened by diversity, and thereby profit from a collective pool of thought that can inspire genius.

The clan have great freedom in their thinking patterns and an awareness of multiple options usually presents itself in the consideration of any problems. They are puzzle solvers and problem addicts who are drawn to complicated and abstract conundrums and moral dilemmas. Collectively they can see experience as a kind of jigsaw made up of millions of pieces which they have to assemble together without having any picture to guide them, and often the design seems to be not a rectangle with clearly defined edges but instead an irregular and confusingly formless shape. They tend to rationally proceed with placing the pieces in order, but frequently move them around trying out different combinations and positions for individual facts, opinions and ideas. There is usually an assumption that there is a “right” position for each piece to be placed in, but the reality is more that there is an ever-changing “right” place for each individual piece to be placed in. This mental awareness reflects the nature of the human collective awareness when it is extremely populous – thoughts and ideas are disseminated throughout the human collective awareness by talking and through transmission by various means through the mental plane, and these thoughts cluster together and bring people into contact with one another in an ever-changing interchange of individual pieces.

In order to facilitate this process the Uranus in Gemini clan come equipped with flexible identities which allow them to adapt to different situations and environments. They are adept at wearing masks which allow them to interact with almost any kind of person at any level of society. Many of them have “a gift of the gab” or a persuasive silver tongue which may not necessarily always tell the truth. In fact the relationship of Uranus in Gemini to the concept of truth is as flexible as its relationship to identity – it perceives that every identity has its own relationship to truth and that to communicate from one identity to another involves connecting with the truth that is shared. The more devious members of this tribe use their knowledge of identity and truth to persuade and con, wearing masks that do not reflect who they are but which they have selected for the present moment as an effective means of manipulation. Often, these individuals can be identified by their evasive and ambiguous statements designed to create confusion amongst those listening as they become difficult to pin down even to themselves and attempt to obfuscate this confusion by creating a distraction from it.

While this fluidity of identity in the clan can help them connect with different people and move among society, the same flexibility does not just make them prone to being confused about their own identity but also has an impact on their ability to form closer relationships with other human beings. They tend to demand too much freedom in relationships of a more intimate nature and can be called out for being flirtatious and vacillating, especially if contacts from Uranus in Gemini are made to Venus. There is usually nothing sinister going on, it’s more often that the Uranus in Gemini person is being very friendly and breaking the norms of behaviour in that respect. However, there can be an inability to settle with a partner and many insecurities connected with what the partner is thinking as the impetus of Uranus in Gemini to probe the collective mind cannot be switched off entirely, nor can it be fully controlled or focused in a sustained way. Sexual identity can also grapple with dilemmas, inability to choose and “on again off again” situations.

Overall what is happening is that the Uranus in Gemini generations are acting as transceivers and “role – players” for the human collective awareness, they are born adept at navigating the collective mind and wearing different hats in different times and places as part of what drives them towards a more enlightened personality and individuality. The idea or notion of “self ” is perceived as and experienced as being mutable when it is placed in the context of the human collective awareness. Simply by being around other people our identity shifts, revealing different facets of itself depending upon the circumstances of the moment and the person/s we are interacting with. Core individuality may remain consistent, but it is always adapted to the environment. The innate awareness that this clan have of this natural phenomena becomes something that they learn to consciously and magically wield in their lives, or else it wreaks havoc. In the worst cases this trait becomes paranoid and bent on seeing conspiracies everywhere, extremely divisive and lost in the madness of the human world of opinions and crippled by its own contrariness. In the best it becomes a genius for bringing people together, an understanding of the magical science of words and the ability to catalyse rapid and widespread changes in the mental plane.

Underlying all this is a development of our awareness of the thing we call ‘sanity’, which through Uranus in Gemini is shown to be more relative than we might like. If what one person calls reality is labelled as ‘insanity’ by another we then see this relativity clearly, but it goes deeper – those who struggle with what we call ‘mental illness’ may in fact just be seeing things very differently, such as those with autism who were once labelled ‘insane’ by ignorant masses. Shamans who have met with people labelled as ‘schizophrenic’ have lamented and said that these people would have been shamans if they had been born into a shamanic culture. This shifting of the agreed upon conventions of sanity is an underlying movement carried forwards by Uranus in Gemini as it brings us to a more enlightened awareness of the mental plane and its reality. This clan sometimes gives rise to ‘eccentrics’ as a way of questioning the sanity of our own agreed upon ideas of reality. Strange, bizarre and exotic lifeforms with fascinating ways of seeing our world permeate the tribe and are continually advancing this agenda. The end goal here is to perceive that what we call sanity is a social convention, albeit a firmly reinforced one. Social conventions are in motion, and so our definitions of sanity are also fluid. For example many cultures once performed human sacrifice, some with willing and some with unwilling victims, but in their own view they did not do this out of madness. Instead they did this for cosmological reasons, often for example because they truly believed that if the sacrifices were not performed the Sun would not return and everything would fall into darkness. To that society this was not madness but a sacred reality. It is only our society that perceives it as insanity, and that’s the point that Uranus in Gemini is making, while pointing out that our cultures definition of sanity will be no less mad to those in our future.

The relationship between the shifting sands of our conventions of sanity and the sciences and technologies which Uranus in Gemini seeds is part of the occult dimensions of this influence, its tribe being a people who inherit a technology that makes commonplace what was previously thought mad. The telephone, the printed book, the communications satellite, the computer – all these Promethean gifts introduce changes to the thinking and mental structure of the human collective awareness, so that what was previously thought to be magic becomes science and social software. In particular these inventions and discoveries act to connect distant points making it possible to speak, see, hear, and experience across both time and space. The curve of this technology into the future therefore points towards an apex at which all human thought will be joined and the definition of sanity will be collective, but the journey to that state is made in realising how insanely polarised our collective thinking has become.

The tribes of Uranus in Libra (1968-1975 and 2051-2059) and Uranus in Aquarius (1995-2003 and 2079-2087) are the firmest allies of this clan in advancing their agenda. I have already spoken of the similarity and difference between this clan and Uranus in Libra – social justice and social equality are the common ground, with the Gemini tribe being able to supply information, contacts and data to the Libra tribe, who then act to bring balance or diplomatically apply things. The much younger Uranus in Aquarius clan, on the other hand, is the source of all the craziest and most fascinating information, and the mixing of these two clans can throw up solutions to almost any problem (while uncovering multiple new ones with all their questions). The common ground here is the keen mind drawn to new and curious ideas.

The two other tribes that can help with moving the agenda forwards smoothly are the Uranus in Aries (1927 – 1934 and 2010 – 2018) and Uranus in Leo (1955-1962 and 2039-2046) tribes. These two Fire tribes spur the Uranus in Gemini clan with motivation, praise, appreciation and excitement. They act to catalyse the clan out of indecision and dilemma, giving it the help it needs to make breakthroughs and overcome deadlocks or ignorance. In return the Uranus in Gemini tribe acts to mentally and intellectually clarify the drives and motivations of the two Fire tribes, articulating the reasons for their actions and providing debate and words for them to be further fuelled by. With Uranus in Aries there is a chemistry of a more volatile and explosive nature while with Uranus in Leo the chemistry is more stable and focused but no less dramatic for it.

The tribes which help to give shape to the agenda of this tribe and to advance it by providing challenge or something to kick against are the Uranus in Virgo (1961-1969 and 2045-2052), Sagittarius (1981-1988 and 2065-2072) and Pisces (1919-1927, 2003-2010 and 2087-2094) people. The problem with Uranus in Virgo is a conflict between sticking to facts and being free to speculate, while the clash with Uranus in Pisces is more a problem of confusion arising every time there is an exchange and a clash between the significance of feelings and ideas. With Uranus in Sagittarius there is a face to face confrontation with the tribes own dark mirror and its evasive, superficial and truth-warping qualities. On the other hand, the Uranus in Gemini people challenge the beliefs, faith and broad assumptions of the Uranus in Sagittarius tribe, waylaying them with facts, new data and an overwhelming amount of critical discussion.

It’s worth noting here that there is a collective pattern at work in the cycle of Uranus in the signs:

  • The sign that is square and behind the current sign in zodiacal order = people 21 years older than us when we are born. They are the more challenging role models and rivals we have, we will grow up to kick against their agenda when they are in their 40s and we reach our 20s.
  • The sign opposite = people about 42 years older when we are born – the status quo when we are born and what we kick against most directly in youth, while when we reach 20 they are already the old guard.
  • The sign that is square and ahead in zodiacal order = people about 63 years old when we are born (the old guard when we are born who die out when we are in our 20s) AND the wave of those who will challenge us when they reach their 20s and we are the status quo in our 40s.

Considering this and the qualities of the signs involved can be very helpful in understanding the agenda of a particular iteration of Uranus in the signs, especially when you take the context of current events into mind. It shows that the status quo and ideology that the Uranus in Gemini people are kicking against is an evolving structure , whereby for example what we see on the way out when we are born comes back in a new form to challenge us when we are in our 40s.

The magical and mystical side of Uranus in Gemini is not only connected with awakening the mental plane and connecting space and time, but also with opening portals and passing through them into new patterns of reality. It leads us on an exploration of space and time which is fuelled by questions about reality and conjecture about its nature. The clan are psychonauts – people who explore activities by which altered states of consciousness are induced and utilised, whether through substances or invention – and they are embarked on voyages beyond skies and conventional wisdom. If they are not advancing the spread of information they are generating it, and if they are not talking about human society they are thinking about it. They are singing a song about humanity and its many thoughts and ideas, puzzling out from the dance we all perform to it many clues and insights into our humanity, which find their way back into the song in an ever developing relationship.

Below I provide you with a huge crowd of well known faces from this tribe. Activations of 2017 (part 2)

Warm greetings, and welcome back to part 2 of our look into 2017. This time we look at Chiron, Saturn and Jupiter over the course of the next year. If you enjoy this read, please consider supporting more writing through Patreon, and thanks for your time and attention in 2016!

For ease of reference, here is the graphic ephemeris from part 1:

transits-2017

The three lines we are studying in this text are the blue, black and brown lines. Notice how much more dynamic the curve of the blue and black lines are, representing Jupiter and Saturn, compared to the less dynamic curve of the brown line, Chiron. Notice also that both Jupiter and Saturn change signs in 2017.

CHIRON ACTIVATIONS IN 2017

Chiron in Pisces moves between 21° and 29° of the sign throughout 2017, but it retrogrades at 29° of the sign midyear and so emphasises 24° to 29° of Pisces. This is therefore the last full year of Chiron in Pisces we will have for about half a century. A new generation of Chiron in Aries is about to be born but it does not begin this year. So if you have a key at 21° to 29° of Pisces, but especially between 24° and 29°, then you have a Chiron activation of that key in 2017. If you have any key at 21° to 29° of the Reactive/Mutable signs Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius then there are challenging turning points ahead for your key coming from Chiron. This may represent a healing crisis, or a challenge with respect to some kind of quest related to the key, or possibly a struggle to integrate your experience in that area of life. If instead or additionally you have any key at 21° to 29° of the Water signs Cancer or Scorpio, then there is additional healing energy flowing that way in 2017 which can help you overcome any pain connected with that key. Chiron is also being instructive toward these people and sharing with them spiritual teachings relating to their emotions. Additionally people with any key at 21° to 29° Taurus or Capricorn receive a stimulus or arousal to that key from Chiron throughout the course of the year. This stimulus is slightly more challenging than the one presented to the Water signs, but has the potential to become more substantial because of what the Earth signs do with it.

The Virgo New Moon of September occurs pretty close to an opposition of Chiron in Pisces. This can be a time in which a need for physio-emotional healing is diagnosed or a healing seed is planted in the astral or body of a subject. I have already mentioned the semi-sextile between Chiron and Uranus which takes place in signs which are contra-antiscia. The only major interaction that Chiron makes with the other activators in 2017 is a sequence of squares with Saturn in Sagittarius which it begins in late December 2016, but there is also an inconjunct with Jupiter in Libra that plays out twice as well, in mid February and late September (there is an interesting intertwining of Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron and Uranus in Active and Reactive signs at the end of 2016 which continues to unwind throughout 2017). The first of the two Saturn/Chiron squares in 2017 occurs April/May and the second occurs in the beginning of November. Saturn square Chiron is also indicative of awkward moments in a healing journey, like Chiron semi-sextile Uranus. If you are working with these planets or a key involved in their activities next year, especially in April, May, October or November, you may have to expect greater challenge. If that is what you want, the challenge you are likely to get depends on your astrology a great deal, but in general the interaction by square between these two is about the wisdom of the more difficult and arduous path, the path which needs greater discipline and persistence and endurance being ultimately the path yielding the greatest healing. The Sagittarius-Pisces backdrop of the square can bring instructive breakthroughs, especially in any kind of exotic meditation, but its Reactive nature can make this elusive to pin down.

The Sun is annually at Pisces 21° – 29° from about March 11th to 19th, so anyone with a birthday in that period in any year (or even a birthday a few days either side) is having a Chiron activation of the Sun key in 2017. Here the emphasis on the Sun key is on healing it or fixing it where it is broken. A diagnosis may be supplied to enable this. The task with Chiron is to accept the diagnosis even when it really hurts and to then reflect upon its teachings and remedies before applying them. The Pisces nature of this experience may involve feelings, especially sadness, yearning, pity, sympathy, compassion, empathy, mercy and forgiveness. At the collective level this group can both help to spread or radiate healing into or from the collective or to heal the group so that it is fit enough to take on its quest and make the most of its activations, or it can act to instruct them (often in a merciful or compassionate course).

The basic collective astrology of Chiron in Pisces for 2017 is as follows:

There are no living generations of Pluto in Pisces.

Chiron is not activating the keys of any people who have Neptune in Pisces because Chiron in Pisces has always been ahead of Neptune, never behind it. This makes an excellent example of a point I have been making before, namely that the zodiac sign positions of the slow moving planets in relation to one another strongly impact the shaping of specific generations – the human story. This generation of Neptune in Pisces people will not have any Chiron activation until they reach their late 40s and early 50s. Had Chiron been just behind Neptune in the zodiac, they would all be getting that activation in their youth instead.

The last time Uranus was in Pisces it first entered the sign in March 2003 and finally left the sign in March 2011. In that period, it occupied 21° to 29° of Pisces in the period April to September 2008 and then again in February 2009 through to March 2011, except between May and August 2010 when it was entering Aries and then returning to Pisces. These people will all be between the ages of about 6-9 in 2017. For the older generation of Uranus in Pisces we must go back to April 1919 through to January 1928, with Uranus at 21° to 29° of Pisces in the period May to August 1924 and then again from March 1925 to March 1927, with a final short period between November 1927 – January 1928. These people will be about 89 – 93 in 2017. All of these people are having Chiron activation of the Uranus key in this year. The potential has to be regarded differently for both ends of the spectrum. For the young, this can be a time in which they are becoming aware of the pain involved in being part of modern human society. Their awareness of suffering, especially emotional suffering, may be receiving an overload from the media they are exposed to or from their peers. Some of them may begin to show sensitivity to electrical fields that can manifest in health problems or sleep problems. Others may have questions about things that they perceive to be broken and how to fix them. For the older generation there are also likely to be emotional challenges but of a different nature. These people may find it difficult to integrate the way people care for one another in a modern society, or find it hard to understand a perceived lack of caring in human society and possibly need to struggle with feelings of isolation and loneliness which can bring about depressive or suffering emotional states. For the young, the positive potential of this activation is an awakening of empathy for the suffering of others, while for the old the positive potential of this activation is an ability to communicate to others what is wrong with human society as well as the pain or isolation that they may be experiencing. For both young and old there is also the possibility of a spiritual awakening involving the discovery of a new quest and ability to apply healing to a collective.

Chiron was last in Pisces from March 1960 to January 1969 (with periods from August 1960 to January 1961 and April – October 1968 in which it is not), occupying 21° to 29° of Pisces in the period April to August 1965 and then again from February 1966 to April 1968, with a final visit between October 1968 and January 1969. These people are all about 48 – 52 years old in 2017, and they are all having their Chiron return. Chiron return can be painful and difficult for our health, with Chiron in Pisces tending to focus on emotional health. However, it also brings relief from pain and suffering, especially when it has overshadowed us throughout the course of our lives. Collectively, these people are all being initiated into the final stages of maturity which relate to being able to teach what they have learned through hard-won experiences. It is a time in which the soul is being challenged to integrate everything that has happened to it and to heal those things which it cannot integrate. The objective here is to make the life and self awareness whole again after decades in which it may have been fracturing. By the time we reach the age of our Chiron return, a life has taken many twists and turns and so has a personality and this period is an initiatory one in which we are able to perceive the whole of that process in an acute form. It prepares us for the 2nd Saturn return, so how we handle this trial goes a long way towards the final form of that looming report card. Chiron return is very healing when shared, and so finding ways to communicate with others going through this process is often very helpful.

For generations of Saturn in Pisces the historical record gives us:

1) May/June 1993 and then January 1994 to April 1996, with Saturn occupying 21° to 29° of Pisces during April to September 1995 and January to April 1996. These individuals are all 21 – 22 years of age in 2017.
2) March 1964 to March 1967, with Saturn occupying 21° to 29° of Pisces during March 1966 to March 1967. These individuals are all 50- 51 years of age in 2017.
3) February 1935 to January 1938, with Saturn occupying 21° to 29° of Pisces during May to August 1936 and then again from February to April 1937, and then finally from October 1937 to 4 January 1938. These individuals are all about 79 – 81 years of age in 2017.

These three generations of people born during Saturn in Pisces are all having Chiron activate the Saturn key in 2017. This can also be a challenging activation, especially emotionally. The potential to dwell upon misery or suffering is higher, and there is a gloominess that sometimes needs to be cheered up. The youngest generation have just entered their 20s, and may find this more difficult since they lack experience with Saturn. The middle generation are in the buildup to their second Saturn return, which this activation may play a role in shaping. The older generation are a few years away from the Uranus return, and a similar shaping may take place of that time through this earlier activation. The positive potential of this activation comes to the fore when members of the three generations work together, because it is then that the older generation can share their insights into what has not worked in the past, which will help the younger generations to avoid making mistakes at these critical times, while the younger generations can draw upon greater empathy and capacity for emotional sensitivity to help the older generation. However, they may not be able to cheer each other up and for that should probably turn to outside assistance.

The pattern of Jupiter in Pisces going back looks like this:

1) January 2010 to January 2011, with Jupiter at 21° to 29° of Pisces April-June 2010 and September 2010 – January 2011. They are 6 – 7 years old in 2017.
2) February 1998 to February 1999, with Jupiter at 21° to 29° of Pisces May-October 1998 and December 1998 – February 1999. These individuals are all about 18 -19 years old in 2017.
3) February 1986 to March 1987, occupying 21° to 29° in June – August 1986 and January to March 1987. These individuals are all about 30-31 years old in 2017.
4) March 1974 to March 1975, occupying 21° to 29° February and March 1975. They are all about 42 years old in 2017.
5) March 1962 to April 1963, occupying 21° to 29° from February to April 1963. These people are all about 54 years old in 2017.
6) April 1950 to April 1951, occupying 21° to 29° in March and April of 1951. This group is all about 66 years old in 2017.
7) May 1938 to December 1939, occupying 21° to 29° in March – May 1939 and October – December of 1939. They all about 78 years old in 2017.
8) January 1927 to January 1928, occupying 21° to 29° April – June 1927 and again from September 1927 – January 1928. This group is all about 88-89 years old in 2017.

All of these people have Chiron activating the Jupiter key in 2017. This can bring experiences related to the integration of greater faith in the power of belief. It can also be an instructive activation, Chiron being an instructor in various lores connected with the natural world, metaphysics and magic, especially alchemy. Working together, these people can have experiences which help them to “connect the dots” between seemingly disconnected fields, or be able to break down generalisations into more concrete and specific observations. They will have a heightened awareness of various flaws in the belief systems of both themselves and others. In collaboration these various groups may be able to teach each other a great deal about subjects which are considered abstract, fuzzy or vague. There is also an opportunity for them to develop their empathy through contact with the natural world and its denizens.

AGE GROUPS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: 6-7, 6-9, 8-9, 18-19, 21-22, 30-31, 42, 48-52, 50-51, 54, 66, 78, 79-81, 88-89, 89-93. If you have a birthday in 2017 in which you turn this age, there may be something to help you in the above text.

BIRTHDAYS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: March 11th – 19th (any year). Year of healing and initiation. Self awareness encompasses the pain it is capable of feeling as a growth experience, and the potential for Pisces to suffer with others or to radiate their own painful feelings is highlighted and energized. Emotional sensitivity can therefore make you more vulnerable in this period while also allowing you to heal the pain of others through empathy. If your birthday is just before these days you are coming out of such a period of emotionally acute sensitivity (and so may able to counsel others going through it) and if your birthday is just ahead the situation is beginning to build up and will affect you more strongly next year or the year after. This is the final group of Pisces people to receive activation by Chiron. All Aries people should begin preparing for a similar activation during or before the mid 2020s, but with less emotional emphasis and greater emphasis on self determination and willpower. Those born at the cusp of Pisces and Aries (March 19th/20th) or in the last third of March should be readying for a similar activation in the next few years.

SATURN ACTIVATIONS IN 2017

In 2017 Saturn moves through the last decan of Sagittarius, starting at 21° and leaving the sign in December to make it through to 1° of Capricorn by the end of the year. This means that if you have any key between Sagittarius 21° and 1° of Capricorn then that key has a Saturn activation in 2017. The 1° of Capricorn lasts only for the last half of December 2017 and I will be treating it as part of 2018, since Saturn in Capricorn is really a theme of 2018 and is a distinctly different influence compared with Saturn in Sagittarius. The only thing I really need to pass on there is that if you have any key at 0°-1° of Capricorn, it will receive Saturn activation at the very end of the year in December. The essential thing for all of us to understand is that throughout the course of 2017 Saturn is preparing to don the cloak of midnight and enter its realm of Magnetic power, and so he is ‘coming home’ after a long journey (Sagittarius, in the last decan). Things will start to look more and more serious and sobering as we move towards 2018, culminating in a ‘setting in’ of realities come the end of December 2017. Inescapable realities are looming, but for those who have learned from Saturn in Sagittarius there will also be opportunities to build. Learning in this case means having accepted responsibilities and redesigned the targets. It means preparing the momentum needed to climb the coming mountains. We are almost done drawing back the bow, and must spend this year being certain of our bulls-eye being the one we want to hit.

For everyone with a key in any other Fire sign – Aries or Leo – there is steadying assistance being sent your way all year in the form of Saturn in Sagittarius. Things can move forwards, slowly but surely and with long term effects, and conduction of Fire keys in the last decan gains fuel and consistent momentum and support. Note how this dovetails with the influence of Uranus in the last decan of Aries, and what it means for Leo keys in the last decan (a lot of help and opportunity and an ease with things). Saturn in Sagittarius also stimulates conduction of keys in Libra or Aquarius, especially when those keys are at 21° or higher. For those keys, timing and saying the right thing to the right person or group become available as assets. On the other hand, the other Reactive/Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo and Pisces) are on the sharp end of the stick of Saturn in Sagittarius in 2017. The last 10° of each of these signs must be prepared to make an extra effort to meet the challenges and goals of the next year, and to contend with delays and blockages. For keys at these positions patience, discipline and forward planning (put into effect in the past) will go a long way and can lead to remarkable achievements.

The New Moon of November coincides with the same degree of Saturn for that time, but the Moon will be in Scorpio which makes no major aspect to Saturn in Sagittarius. During the course of the year Saturn makes aspects with Chiron and Uranus (two squares and two trines respectively, which I have previously described in those sections), while also making a sextile with Jupiter in Libra towards the end of August. This is an aspect they almost made at the end of December 2016 but which didn’t quite become exact. The stimulation between these two planets in the last half of August and the beginning of September 2017 should prove to be an asset for anyone working with these planets at that time. Jupiter in Libra and Saturn in Sagittarius resonate with the concept of truth and justice, and thus create opportunities for people to aspire to these often elusive concepts. There is opportunity here for people to come to agreements about targets that need to be met and for working in tandem in ways which are fair, instructive, productive and move things forwards. Combined with the three trines between Saturn and Uranus that I previously described, the opportunities in 2017 provided by Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus for working with Fire and Air are potent, with powerful support in May, late August and early November. However, the May and November periods are preceded by difficulties in the form of Chiron square Saturn, also described earlier. The focus of that square is the fundamental clash between Fire and Water.

The Sun passes annually through Sagittarius 21° – 1° Capricorn from about December 13th – 23rd. This means that if your birthday is in that period or nearby to it you are experiencing Saturn activation of the Sun key in 2017. This will be especially strong if you are born on or after the soltice, with the Sun in Capricorn instead of Sagittarius (since Saturn will be in rulership when in Capricorn). However, these Capricorn activations do not really start to happen until the year is nearly over. Saturn activation of the Sun key in any sign can diminish our energies, so it is wise to slow down next year if you are in this birthday group. If you meet with blockage or failure, learn the hard lessons but do not give up. Focus on developing discipline, long term strategy, patience and other Saturn qualities in the year to come. Prepare to work harder than in previous years, possibly with less immediate result, and do not let fear control you. At the collective level you can bring stability and order, and supply leadership power and a command over practicalities that slowly gets things done. You may be inhibited or feel restrained, but try to use these strictures as teachers of discipline and bide your time. Overall my advice to these people is to stay cool, remain optimistic where appropriate, keep a steady eye and hand as you target your goals and you will strike the centre of the Sun. This will set you up for years. For those born on December 21st/22nd with a Capricorn Sun, put things in place so that starting in that month of 2017 you are ready for a similar process to begin.

The generational patterns being triggered by Saturn in Sagittarius throughout 2017 are as follows:

Pluto was in Sagittarius from January 1995 to November 2008 (it will have been in Scorpio for some months at the beginning of this period or in Capricorn for some months at the end, because of retrogradation). It passed through 21° to the end of the sign in the period January 2004 to January 2008 (except between June – November 2004), then again during June to November 2008. This group will be between the ages of 9 – 13 years old in 2017. The activation of the Pluto key by Saturn next year may bring a lot of pressure on them via the education system, or a sense that the aspirations of these people are being limited or pressurised. Classes of these children are set to encounter difficulties as tensions build, challenges related to cultural pressures compound and an increase of any dissonance felt between them and the authorities reaches a cracking point. The sporting aspirations of many of them seem set to be afflicted by a wave of corrupt scandals (English football, Russian athletics, etc.). Those of us who are in positions of authority or guardianship over these souls in 2017 must remember not to take too heavy a hand as it will be met with a burning resistance and resentment will take root which will prove very difficult to shift in later years. The positive potential of this activation occurring to so many young children includes a realistic assessment of their ability to transform our knowledge and more importantly our path forwards into the future. If the mature adults who come to represent Saturn in this equation for this period can help to realistically form and structure these children’s ability to transform instead of containing or oppressing it, then the tensions need not build and more constructive results can occur. Nevertheless, certain harsh but necessary truths are always exposed when Saturn and Pluto interact.

Neptune was in Sagittarius from January 1970 to November 1984 (again with exceptions at the beginning and end due to retrogradation). In that period it occupied 21° or higher from January 1980 to June 1980, then from November 1980 to January 1984, and then from June to November 1984. Therefore, the group having Saturn activate the Neptune key in 2017 are all about 33-37 years old. For these people, Saturn is checking out the reality of the Neptune in Sagittarius agenda they were born with questing after together. It may need restructuring or an assessment and admission of its failings. Multi-culturalism is taking a hit as Saturn moves through this sign partly because the cultural idealism and utopianism of Uranus and Neptune in Sagittarius is being shown to have serious flaws. Collective activations are evolutions of human culture and society. To meet this challenge these groups currently need to adopt the rules of Saturn – discipline, order, structure and patience, but above all the correct attitude to failure. A vision is only measurable by how achievable it is, by the knowledge of what must be attained to get there and its consistent application. Failures and setbacks increase the pool of knowledge vastly more than any successes do. Some have been conned by their own optimism and will be let down. There is a powerful difference between encountering defeats and being defeated. These are some of the lessons being taught to this class of people in 2017.

Uranus was in Sagittarius from November 1981 to December 1988. There was a brief period in February and March of 1981 when it was also in Sagittarius, and a period in February to May 1988 when it was in Capricorn instead. It occupied 21° or higher from January to May 1986 and then again from November 1986 to February 1988, and finally from May to December of 1988. So this group are all about 29 – 31 years of age in 2017, and they all have Saturn activating the Uranus key. Much of what I have said in the paragraph above applies here, with the obvious exception of this being a Uranus in Sagittarius tribe with its own agenda that differs from the Neptune in Sagittarius agenda because it is less about vision and overall dream and much more about revolution and overthrow of culturally imposed limitations. This is never one-sided but multi-polar – the Uranus in Sagittarius tribe represents multi-culturalists, the ‘alt-right’, the impact of cyberwarfare on national elections, fake news conspiracy stories and all the other modern memes which connect with freedom of speech, destiny or movement. In a sociological sense what we see here with Uranus and Neptune is that it is a younger group of people (29-31) who feel the impact of 2017 limiting their future freedoms and choices, while there is an older group (33-37) who feel a more elusive tightening around the throat of their visions and their imaginations, the narrative that is part of their life fable. Each group needs to be guided towards a realistic assessment of its agenda and where necessary discipline and long term strategy has to be built in. They may be able to help each other with this if they can also share the pressures and worries they experience in ways that do not cause them to multiply.

Chiron in Sagittarius last occurred starting in January 1999 and ending in December of 2001, occupying 21° or higher from December 2000 to December 2001. These people are all about 16-17 years old in 2017. An older generation exists to guide or instruct them at this time, with Chiron in Sagittarius in November 1948 and leaving it in November 1951. During this period it occupied 21° or higher from March to May 1950, then November 1950 to February 1951, and finally in June to November 1951. These people are all about 66 – 67 in 2017. Each of these groups have Saturn activating the Chiron key in this year. This activation can help reveal the way things really are, but it can also present delays and blocks in healing or spiritual seeking. Saturn medicine is being prescribed for what ails these people in 2017. The path is narrowing in 2017, choices are being squeezed, forcing some of these souls to fear going off the beaten track. Fears of illness or poor health may need to be faced and a patient response to treatment may be required. This is potentially a good influence for instilling any kind of discipline into a spiritual practice, especially a healing practice. The Saturn activation of Chiron in Sagittarius can also bring important lessons or information from mentors, older people or authorities, or the abandonment, failure or completion of a long sought for quest.

Saturn in Sagittarius at 21° or higher in the past 100 years looks like this:

1) March – April 1987, November 1987 – February 1988 and June – November 1988, aged 29 -30 in 2017 (1st Saturn return group)
2) January – July 1958 and October 1958 – January 1959, aged 58-59 in 2017 (2nd Saturn return)
3) December 1928 – March 1929 and May – November 1929, aged 88-89 in 2017 (3rd Saturn return)

These are the groups who are passing through major rites of passage in 2017, with the youngest group stepping firmly into life and readying to take up roles of authority, the middle group approaching the sunset years and relinquishing that authority, and the oldest group reaching an apex of timely experience. A major life cycle is both ending and beginning – even the elders gaze upon a dying of one cycle and a birth of a new cycle of life, in the ultimate sense. How we handle a Saturn return often depends on how gracefully we are ageing, how much acceptance of mortality and getting older we have. It also depends on how well we handle failure, whether we then see ourselves as failures or instead seize upon the opportunity to learn from them. Sagittarius can be very helpful in this respect, but dogma and a stubborn clinging to long cherished but tarnished truths can block its intuition and insight. Saturn return in Sagittarius can also be restrictive, like pinning a wild stallion into an enclosure, and so 2017 may contain experiences of this nature that require a realistic assessment of the limitations we have created through our karmic choices and a patient acceptance of the consequences. By the end of 2017, when Saturn enters Capricorn, this process will be winding down. By that time, the two younger groups should be ready to begin with their long term future plans, and the older ones should have much wisdom to share with them, if they can find a way to pass it on.

Jupiter in Sagittarius at 21° or higher over the last 100 years looks like this:

1) November and December 2007, aged about 10 in 2017
2) November 1995 – January 1996, aged about 21-22 in 2017
3) December 1983 and January 1984, aged about 33-34 in 2017
4) December 1971 – February 1972 and July – September 1972, aged about 45-46 in 2017
5) January – March 1960 and June – October 1960, aged about 57 in 2017
6) January – July 1948 and September – November 1948, aged about 69 in 2017
7) February – May 1936 and October – December 1936, aged about 81 in 2017
8) November and December 1924, aged about 93 in 2017

All of these people have Saturn activating the Jupiter in Sagittarius key in 2017. Jupiter is very strong in Sagittarius, and so the activation by Saturn will be firmly resisted in many cases. In general, this activation presses reality against what we have believed to be true, testing it through compression and limitation. It may be necessary to restructure the overall way of believing in things or belief in specific things, especially if realities argue against it with firm evidence. This can be a powerful activation for setting large scale, long term plans into motion, especially with a collective drive or awareness behind it. Its also an opportunity to firmly grasp the practical applications of spiritual laws. Expansion of any kind by these people in 2017 will be slow and laborious – only the expansion that is truly necessary is being helped by Saturn – a better strategy than seeking expansion with this influence is to plan on needing to be resourceful, to make what you have stretch for longer than expected, and to curb or cut back excessive growth behaviors. This will ultimately lead to the desired expansion. Above all, these individuals and the tribe of Jupiter in Sagittarius as a whole should strive to forge their faith in the crucible of real experience.

AGE GROUPS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: 9-13, 10, 16-17, 21-22, 29-30, 29-31, 33-34, 33-37, 45-46, 57, 58-59, 66-67, 69, 81, 88-89, 93. If you have a birthday in 2017 in which you turn this age, there may be something to help you in the above text.

BIRTHDAYS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: December 13th – 23rd (any year). Year of maturation and growing up, with increased responsibilities and pressures shaping the long term future. May need to slow down and act more conservatively and practically. Putting things in place for the long term is the wisest strategy and you may encounter setbacks or authoritarian blocks  but you may also be reaping the seeds of things sewn and labored over for some time. Take the patient path of delayed rewards and persistent endurance and try to cultivate the virtues of Saturn. If your birthday is just before these days you are coming out of similar pressures or a slowdown (and so may able to counsel others going through it) and if your birthday is just ahead the situation is beginning to build up and will affect you more strongly next year or the year after. This is the final group of Sagittarius people to receive activation and the first part of the Saturn in Capricorn groups. All Capricorn people should begin preparing for a similar activation before 2021.

JUPITER ACTIVATIONS IN 2017

Jupiter changes signs in 2017, moving from Libra to Scorpio in the first half of October, and so we must split its activity into two distinct but connected territories in 2017. Overall, Jupiter moves between 13° of Libra to 16° (almost 17°) of Scorpio. The switch to Jupiter in Scorpio is on October 10th, so in this discussion I am dividing the year into two portions that are separated on that date.

Firstly, the movement of Jupiter in Libra from 13° through to 16° Scorpio means that any keys you have in that area of the zodiac are receiving Jupiter activation in 2017. If the keys are in Libra, activation comes before October 10th, if in Scorpio its after. This means there are large opportunities for expansion in respect of that key at some point in the year. Jupiter activation creates opportunities and makes room in your life in some way, and so expect that to be a major theme at some point in the year for about a month or two (depending on where your key is). For those who have any key in Aries, Cancer or Capricorn at 13° or higher there are warnings about excessive behaviour affecting that key in 2017 sometime prior to October 10th, with overextension leading to rapid exhaustion, too much faith being ill placed or growth challenges emerging when it comes to joining efforts together with others. Jupiter in Libra is advocating co-operation and diplomacy for these people. Similarly, Jupiter in Scorpio from October 10th onward brings challenges for anyone with a key at 0° to 16° of Taurus, Leo or Aquarius. The same warnings about overextension, excessiveness and exaggeration apply here, but there is a much stronger emotional dimension to these challenges. Jupiter in Scorpio is advocating intensity, passion and the desire for emotional communion at a deep level, all of which present challenges for the signs I have mentioned, and they may be resisting these things or going overboard and bloating with them. It also increases the potential stubbornness and possessive behaviour connected with keys in these areas of the zodiac.

On the other hand, anyone with a key at 13° or higher of Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius and/or Aquarius is receiving stimulus at some point in 2017 which will help them in the conduction of that key or to expand its potential and opportunities. This will occur at some point prior to October 10th. After October 10th, it is the turn of anyone with a key at 0° to 16° of Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and/or Pisces to receive these gifts. The trines and sextiles provided to these signs by Jupiter at some point in 2017 will often help to “grease the wheels” so that things run more smoothly and progressively in the direction of that key. They can also generate fortune or luck. The only real danger with these trines and sextiles is that we will fail to get the most out of them and will instead just enjoy the benefits. To get the most out of them, we have to follow up the opportunities or invest the growth in ways which cultivate further abundance. In other words, wastefulness and laziness are the main problems.

The observant among you will have noted that for a large portion of the year Jupiter is casting support out to a lot of the Fire and Air of the zodiac, but that after October 10th that will have ceased and the support is instead going to Water and Earth. This shows a shift in the Fluid emphasis provided by Jupiter. Jupiter is basically giving support to Electric activity until October 10th, and then is instead supporting Magnetic activity. It’s also making magical operations connected with the middle and last decan of Libra and the first 2 decans of Scorpio easier to perform. We might say that the spiritual laws of these areas are finding their way into productive form, but much more time and thus emphasis is being given to the Libra decans. The times when Jupiter is in the last decan of Libra are very good for magic and talismans devoted to the equilibrium, while the second decan of Libra is a blessing for negotiations, contracts and agreements between parties (see the excellent “36 Faces” by Austin Coppock).

Jupiter in Libra forms two oppositions with Uranus in Aries (discussed in the section on Uranus), two squares with Pluto in Capricorn (discussed in the section on Pluto), and a sextile with Saturn (discussed in the section on Saturn). This is overall a tricky path, so pay heed to these if working with activations by Jupiter or one of these planets in 2017. Jupiter in Scorpio only makes a trine with Neptune (discussed in the section on Neptune). Throughout 2017 Jupiter does not involve itself much with the lunar cycle. It is in a sextile with the Leo Moon lunar eclipse of February (which is visible across much of the world except Australia and eastern China and takes place on the 10th/11th) and in a square with the Full Moons of January (Cancer Full Moon) and July (Capricorn Full Moon), and these are the closest it comes to major interaction with the lunar cycle. The two squares with the Full Moon should be taken as signs to slow and scale down a bit if working with Jupiter activations at these junctures. The energy generated is high but unwieldy, it requires careful balancing to extract the juice. There is also a danger of oversensitivity and overprotective authoritarianism. Jupiter in Scorpio forms only a trine with Neptune in early December, right at the time the Full Moon in Gemini makes a square with Neptune (see Neptune, earlier). This Full Moon does not interact with Jupiter except through the mutual contact they share with Neptune. It seems be the final act or event before Saturn leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn, too. The start of December is a good time for anyone working at spiritual or psychic growth, but especially if they have a key at or near 11° of any Water sign (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces) or near 11° of Capricorn (which sextiles both Scorpio and Pisces). Powerful and emotive transformational moments are likely, so open your soul to music or something mystical.

The Sun is annually between Libra 13° and Scorpio 16° between about October 6th – November 8th. So if you are a Libra born after October 6th, or a Scorpio born before November 8th, you will have Jupiter activating the Sun key in 2017. The Librans will have this sometime before October 10th, while the Scorpios after. This is a time to allow greater optimism and faith to guide you, to seek expansion and growth and to make use of the abundance being sent your way.

I will divide the collective astrology of Jupiter in 2017 into the two camps of Jupiter in Libra and Jupiter in Scorpio, and for brevity will focus only on degrees involved rather than signs.

Pluto was at 13° or higher of Libra in the period November 1976 – March 1977, then September 1977 – November 1983, and finally in May – August 1984. These people are all going to be about 33-41 in 2017, and they all have Jupiter activation of a Pluto in Libra key. Justice and social matters will likely concern them, as will sexual and gender equality. The younger group of Pluto in Scorpio people receiving a comparable activation in 2017 are all born between November 1983 and May 1984, or August 1984 – December 1989, or April – October 1990 (when Pluto was between 0° and 16° of Scorpio). Their age group in 2017 is 27-34. This is probably a bigger emotional deal for them than it is for the Jupiter in Libra people, as Scorpio communicates its essential meaning with more intensity than any other sign and Pluto has a deep resonance with Scorpio which empowers the activation further. It’s also more of an erotic stimulus, serving to awaken the sexual morality of the Pluto in Scorpio tribe. By this I do not mean they will become prudish, but instead that they will be growing into what feels right to them. For the Pluto in Scorpio tribe, the arrival of Jupiter is an opportunity to sexually transform themselves on a grand scale. It also promises assistance to all the occultists and magicians among them.

For both groups, Jupiter is focusing on deepening the bonds of experience that tie them together as individuals. This means they are growing into their Pluto agenda, or finding it growing for them in some way. It is a time for them to bring about a greater scale of transformation through their shared Pluto, in their individual ways. They can build up hope and faith in their Pluto in Libra or Scorpio , and it can become a source of optimism and expansion. Each group can also look back to the previous activation of their Pluto key by Jupiter for clues as to its nature – the Pluto in Libra group need to reflect on the period in early and mid 2005 while the Pluto in Scorpio group have everything in 2006 up to September to examine. Look for compulsive experiences and growth in both cases, but especially in relationships for Pluto in Libra and sexual or occult experience for Pluto in Scorpio.

Neptune was at Libra 13° or higher (up to Scorpio 0°) between October 1948 – May 1949, then between August 1949 – December 1955, and finally between March and October of 1956. This group are all about 61-69 in 2017 and they all have Jupiter activating the Neptune in Libra key in 2017, but not after October 10th. This activation mobilises the imagination and compassionate empathy in partnerships, and it can lead to a dreamy and too idealistic attachment to being with someone else, the formation of bonds with gurus or spiritual teachers, prophetic dreams or psychic perception becoming more accurate or grand in scale, visions of the true relationship or the true point of balance between things, powerful evocations and success in seeking the magical equilibrium, among other things. Jupiter is enlarging the scope of the Neptune in Libra agenda and moving among the tribe promoting a hope for justice, harmony and truth.

Neptune was at Scorpio 0° – 16° between December 1955 – March 1956, then from October 1956 – June 1957, then from August 1957 – December 1963, then finally from April – October 1964. This group are all about 53-62 in 2017 and they all have Jupiter activating the Neptune in Scorpio key in 2017, but only after October 10th. This is a powerful psychic activation of this tribe, with those seeking to find deeper truths discovering them everywhere. For this group there is a potent emotional boost blossoming in empathy and an abundant imagination, and many will also feel emboldened to explore the dark corners of their inner caverns. Some of the hidden or not so hidden trapdoors here involve paranoid suspicions, narcotic escape, endless unreachable desire or a saturated addiction factor, meddling spirit entities (wraiths, larvae, succubi and incubi, etc), increased possessiveness over a vision and criminal or deceptive behaviour. By working together this group can expect a major boost to its occult perceptions and psychic powers, complexes related to sexual identity dissolving, hidden themes and stories emerging or new insights into abstract or metaphysical principles.

For both groups, in different ways, Jupiter is expanding awareness of the agenda of their Neptune – the ideal or vision which they are living is getting bigger, more dramatically written, major growth is taking place around it and there is opportunity to more easily expand psychic or spiritual perceptions. The overall danger is that expansion will lead to ‘lift off’ and floating away from the rest of Earth filled with hot air, or in squandering the opportunities. Each group can also look back to the previous activation of their Neptune key by Jupiter for clues as to its nature – the Neptune in Libra group need to reflect on the period of 2005 up to October while the Pluto in Scorpio group have October 2005 – October 2006 to examine. See if you can identify how your Neptune agenda expanded in this period, and look at where it has gone from there. Then try to identify where expansion needs to occur now. Joining together with others going through this activation can help immensely.

Uranus was at Libra 13° or higher (but still in Libra) between December 1970 – February 1971, then again September 1971 – November 1974 and finally between May – September 1975. All these souls are about 42-47 in 2017, and they all have Jupiter activating the Uranus in Libra key. Sometime before October 10th amazing and very likely fortuitous things may be about to happen in the relationships of these people, with the force of Jupiter leading to awakening, renewal and new beginnings. New connections will form, and out of them may come new partners. Co-operative group efforts fall under a lucky star with Jupiter helping to promote the execution of radical changes easily. However, there is a danger of uncontrollable or unpredictable polarisations occurring in multiple forms if communication or diplomacy fails, or if one partnership ends up dominating a group dialogue. Overall, though, this group can look forwards to an exciting time in relating to others, especially if they relate to one another.

Uranus was at Scorpio 0°-16° November 1974 – May 1975, then from September 1975 – November 1978, and for a short while longer in July and August of 1979. This group are between the ages of 38-43 in 2017, and they all have Jupiter activating the Uranus in Scorpio key. This is an opportunity to make breakthroughs in sexual and occult awakening and to generally work together in constructively advancing the agenda of Uranus in Scorpio. Occult groups and complex rituals by this group at this time are especially supported. New insights are coming for this group after October 10th, new projects are going to start unexpectedly and bring about transformations of their social circles. They have an opportunity to gain much greater emotional liberation, but must beware excessive desires, obsessive thinking or being attracted to things which are too far out, since these things can cause them to lose their sense of direction. Overall, Jupiter has some kind of end of year surprise waiting for this group, and they should enjoy it but need to not go overboard or race ahead of themselves.

Chiron was at Libra 13° or higher (but still in Libra) between December 1995 – March 1996, then August – December 1996, and finally April – September 1997. These people are all about 20-22 years old in 2017 and they all have Jupiter activation of a Chiron in Libra key sometime before October 10th. This activation helps to mend or repair wounded or broken relationships and to restore balance where it has been lost. It soothes those who are going through separations but if the pain is acute and needs healing then it sometimes gets stronger or more noticeable before that happens. It can help to lift the tribes nagging sense of loneliness and isolation. In some cases it can bring about a break-up of a partnership (any kind of close partner) which is mutually agreed or handled without bitterness. This activation can also teach people about healing, especially with methods that involve partners or which focus on finding a balance. Some of the tripwires here are blaming everyone but oneself, being so hurt you decide you are better off going it totally alone, focusing on a grand quest that can only lead to deflation, being hurt by ones own empathy for another person, feeling guilty because we cant do enough to help someone else or falling into the habit of sympathetically detecting a persons opinion and then unconsciously adopting a contrary-position that antagonizes or stirs up hurt.

Chiron was at Scorpio 0°-16° December 1996 – April 1997, September 1997 – January 1998 and April – September 1998. This group are all about 19-21 years old in 2017, and they all have Jupiter activation of a Chiron in Scorpio key sometime after October 10th. This is again a powerful activation for penetrating the occult mysteries, but also for detective work in which various puzzle pieces have to fit together. Sexual hangups can be resolved and eroticism can become more healing. Jupiter is beginning to boost up the healing potential of these people again (it does so once every 11 or 12 years) and they may find themselves aroused emotionally upon a certain quest or in the course of spiritual initiation. The healing power of depth and passion are stirring in this tribe at the end of 2017. They must be aware of the potential for emotional pain to increase as part of this, or at least sensitivity to it. Those among them inclined to probe the mysteries of the afterlife and the death process will also find powerful factors at work. Overall this group are being emotionally initiated into deeper levels in late 2017.

Saturn was at Libra 13° or higher (but still in Libra) on the following three occasions:

1) November 2010 – April 2011 and then August 2011 – October 2012. This group are about 5-7 years of age in 2017.
2) October 1981 – November 1982 and May – August 1983. This group are about 34-36 years of age in 2017.
3) December 1951 – March 1952 and August 1952 – October 1953. This group are about 64-66 years of age in 2017.

Each of these people has Jupiter activating a Saturn in Libra key before October 10th in 2017. The two older groups will already have experienced a similar activation about 11 to 12 years ago, and 11 to 12 years before that going back to their birth. The youngest generation is having its first Jupiter activation of this key. The two older generations may therefore have something to share with the younger generation at this time. This is a strong activation for relationships and the karma of relationships, a major focus of this tribe. The activation by Jupiter helps to loosen some of the rules of relationships that usually guide them and can bring a rapid maturation of relating tactics and knowledge. In the younger generation there may also be more opportunities to mature in their understanding, especially of adult relationships. Patient diplomacy prevails and is luckier for these people in 2017, but only before October 10th.

Saturn was at Scorpio 0° – 16° on the following past occasions:

1) October 2012 – November 2013 and June – August of 2014. These souls are going to be 3-5 years old in 2017.
2) November 1982 – May 1983 and August 1983 – October 1984. They are going to be 33-35 years old in 2017.
3) October 1953 – December 1954 and May – September 1955. This group are all about 62-64 in 2017.

All of these people have Jupiter activating the Saturn in Scorpio key sometime after October 10th of 2017. A common manifestation of this activation is that gloom will lift in some significant way – this tribe is prone to pessimism and looking on the bleak side, and this activation provides a remedy or antidote to that tendency. The tribe can rediscover its sense of humour or hope and employ this to lessen the restrictive influence of Saturn in their lives. A great deal of wisdom and insight is also available to these people at the end of the year, and those who have been working persistently and with discipline as well as emotional commitment will be amply rewarded. However, it can also deepen dark moods if inner feelings have been suppressed. The interplay of Jupiter and Saturn always helps us to understand and comprehend the natural laws at work in existence and in our lives, and Scorpio channels this directly into occult and sexual power and secrets. Mishandling this activation leads to a dramatic scaling up or increase in the emotions which bring about depression and a pessimistic outlook. In joining together this group of people can find extreme persistence and determination at hand and these strengths are easily drawn upon. The older generations in the list can have extremely important experiences to pass on to the younger ones.

Jupiter was at Libra 13° or higher (but still in Libra) on the following occasions:

1) December 2004 – April 2005, then August – October 2005. This group are between 12- 13 years old in 2017. This represents the astonishing growth of puberty.
2) December 1992 – March 1993, then August – November 1993. This group are between 24-25 years old in 2017. This represents being in physical prime.
3) September – November 1981. This group are all turning aged 36 in 2017. This represents being in adult prime.
4) September – December 1969, then April – August 1970. These people are between 47 – 48 years old in 2017. This represents mature adulthood.
5) October 1957 – January 1958, then March – September 1958. They are about 59 – 60 years old in 2017. This represents life maturity (it coincides with the second Saturn return).
6) October 1945 – September 1946. This group turn 71 – 72 years of age in 2017. It represents life wisdom.
7) November 1933 – October 1934. They are between 83 – 84 years of age in 2017. This stage represents elder wisdom (it coincides with the Uranus return).

This group all have a Jupiter return in 2017 before October 10th, and each has the overall theme identified above because they are initiatory stages of every life. Puberty is only the most obvious and uncontrolled – all of these stages are a kind of puberty (a major growth period) for that part of life. In fact, many issues generated in puberty but left over reassert themselves and we grow out of them. Older generations can always help younger ones, and this may be an important key to our societal handling of puberty as well as the other stages of life we pass through under Jupiter’s watch. Jupiter increases opportunity through combination and so if these people can get together and combine their efforts in 2017 there is much more they become capable of, but a Jupiter in Libra return often focuses on relating to others, co-operating, joining with those of like mind and having faith that disagreements can be negotiated. These qualities become luckier and more abundant for this group up to October 10th. However, indecision and moral choices may multiply and these are Jupiter’s way of guiding growth in an appropriate direction.

Jupiter was at Scorpio 0° -16° on the following occasions:

1) October 2005 – January 2006, then April – September 2006. This group are between 11 – 12 years old in 2017. This represents the astonishing growth of puberty.
2) November 1993 – October 1994. They are between 23-24 years old in 2017. This represents being in physical prime.
3) November 1981 – October 1982. This group are all aged 35-36 in 2017. This represents being in adult prime.
4) August – November 1970. These souls are about 47 years old in 2017. This represents mature adulthood.
5) September – November 1958. They are about 59 years old in 2017. This represents life maturity (it coincides with the second Saturn return).
6) September – December 1946. This group turn about 71 years of age in 2017. It represents life wisdom.
7) October 1934 – January 1935, then May – August 1935. This group are 82 – 83 years of age in 2017. This stage represents elder wisdom (it coincides with the Uranus return).

This group all have a Jupiter return after October 10th. The same advice given to Jupiter in Libra applies here, but instead the focus is on sexuality much more than on relating, with emotional power also featuring heavily. This is a very different kind of rite of passage into puberty, with intensity and passion where there was detachment and judgement from Libra. Occult practitioners in this group will find much to be thankful for in the last part of the year, and if conductions of the Jupiter key are made at this time or leading into it they can produce near miraculous results in this area. Deeper and broader insights are storing up as the year progresses. What is important though is to embrace all the opportunities to grow that this time brings, especially astrally and/or emotionally. Complex and messy personal situations may arise to stimulate growth in these areas, but its more likely you have luck in these cases. Expect a multitude of secrets and more abundance psychically, astrally and/or physically as the return draws near.

AGE GROUPS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: 3-5, 5-7, 11-12, 12-13, 19-21, 20-22, 23-24, 24-25, 27-34, 33-35, 33-41, 34-36,  35-36, 36, 38-43, 42-47, 47, 47-48, 53-62, 59, 59-60, 61-69, 62-64, 64-66, 71, 71-72, 82-83, 83-84. If you have a birthday in 2017 in which you turn this age, there may be something to help you in the above text.

BIRTHDAYS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION:  (October 6th – November 8th, any year). Year of major growth and expansion with potential for a run of good luck. If you are Libran then expect this before October 10th, if Scorpio look forward to it after October 10th. Librans find relationships going better than the norm and Scorpios find their instincts and emotional perceptions to be more broadly insightful. Be careful of wastefulness, overoptimism, hot air, dogmatic beliefs and over-extension. Try to cultivate positive receptivity to new opportunities and to be a source of hope and good faith for those around you. Be generous and share the abundance in your life. If you are a Scorpio born after November 8th then 2018 is the year in which this will happen and if you are a Libran born before October 6th then 2016 has been the year in which this growth occurred.

That’s it for me on 2017, and also it for me in 2016. I hope you have enjoyed the journeys I have shared this year and will continue to next year, loving blessings and peace be upon you all, and thank you for your time and support.

Activations of 2017 (part 1)

Greetings, and welcome back to Journeys. My last pair of articles this year are about next year – here you will find an outline of the major transits of 2017 and a summary of who they will be affecting and how. I check out the lay of the land and pass on some advice to people practicing The 26 Keys. All visuals in this article enlarge with a click. I like to look at the major patterns of the year graphically because a year is a big chunk of time and I find a visual representation helps to give me a bigger picture. A years worth of astrological data is a lot to sift through so it helps to use a general picture. The best tool I have found for this so far is the graphic ephemeris supplied by Solar Fire. In this article I will use this tool to present information and then talk about it from the perspective (mainly) of someone practicing the work set out in The 26 Keys, but there will also be some insight into how it can be used to practically mobilize our collective astrology at certain times. What you will not find in this article is much in the way of predictions regarding world events in 2017, although you may use the graphic ephemeris to draw your own conclusions by applying the information contained within it to ongoing happenings. What the graph shows are the transits to transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto along with their sign and degree positions, as well as the cycle of lunations (New and Full Moon and solar and lunar eclipses).

The degrees of the zodiac from 0° to 30° are shown along the left-hand side. Also on the left-hand side, and sometimes at the top and on the bottom when a planet changes signs, you can see which planets are in which signs. In this way you can see when the various planets interact, because their lines cross over one another. If you also know the order of the signs of the zodiac, you can also quickly figure out which aspect the two planets are making. You can also see which degree of the zodiac this activity is happening in. And the fact that you can see all of this information visually for all of the planets at once allows you to see the major intersections where and when planets are interacting and weaving together in a very complex or more intricate way than they usually are. Note for example that we are seeing a lot of activity in the lower portions of this graph, which relate to 20 to 30° of various signs. This means that people with objects in 20 to 30°are more likely to have significant activations this year. This is especially true of objects in the signs Aries, Libra, Sagittarius and Pisces, the signs which have objects moving through 20 to 30°. This graph can be very useful in the practice of conduction, especially (Electro)Magnetic conduction, because it shows all the Full (F) and New Moons (N), as well as where in the zodiac they occur, and the fact that you can see when and where these occur also allows you to see how they are interacting with the other planetary cycles and their interactions. This can be very telling information when combined.

Missing from this graph are the faster objects, including Mars. That deeper and more intricate layer is beyond the scope of this article, but worth examining if you want to see greater detail or attain a more precise timing for something you are planning. In the sections that follow I will outline and comment upon each of the activators from the graph starting with the slowest, Pluto, and ending with the fastest, Jupiter. There is a large amount of information to pass on in each case, and the first part of this article deals with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, with part two looking at Chiron, Saturn and finally Jupiter.

PLUTO ACTIVATIONS 2017

usfowyo1qew-kalen-emsley.jpg

As the graph shows, Pluto is operative in Capricorn between 17° and 19°. Therefore, if you have any keys at all at those degrees or nearby to them (say about 4° away at maximum) you can expect a strong influence on Pluto over that key throughout the duration of 2017. Many of us will be able to find Pluto doing something to one of our temple keys rather than to our world keys. This is because while not everybody has a Light, planet or other solar system object in Capricorn, almost everybody has Capricorn ruling over a certain temple in their chart (and in some house systems this will always be the case) and so there is at least a chance that Pluto will be activating one of the temple keys. This advice applies to every section of this article – temple keys are more likely to be involved. This means if a world key is involved, its usually more significant.

In summary, the basic information relating to Pluto’s activity in 2017 is that everyone with any kind of Capricorn key between about 17° and 19° of the sign has an opportunity to turn that key through conduction of the Pluto activation. Windows of opportunity will enable those with any key nearby to those degrees to also work with a Pluto activation of that key. We can also note that the graph shows us that there is a Full Moon taking place at the same degree as Pluto in early June. This Full Moon will not be in Capricorn but in Sagittarius, and thus not in significant astrological contact with Pluto in Capricorn. Even so, this may be an exceptionally powerful time for any conduction of any key at or near Capricorn 19°. It may also signify important happenings for anyone with any kind of object in that area of the zodiac, with Pluto representing an intense transformation or rebirth and the Full Moon brightly transmitting this into the astral awareness. This will likely be even more the case with the July Full Moon, which is in Capricorn and only 1° away from Pluto.

Adding a bit more detail to what we can glean, Pluto’s movement through 17° to 19° of Capricorn also influences and affects everything placed between 17° to 19° of the other Active/Cardinal signs, which are Aries, Cancer and Libra. Pluto is creating a lot of intense or compulsive challenge for any key placed at any of those degrees, all year long. However, it is not recommended that you attempt any kind of conduction of these activities, because they easily grow out of control and blow up in your face. Instead, it is advised that you note this potential and prepare for it by assessing your needs for transformation in the area concerned by that key, because 2017 will probably force some kind of transformation there anyway and it will be better for you to know in advance what really needs to change so that circumstances can be consciously rejuvenated. Aside from this, keys at 17° to 19° of the other two Earth signs, Taurus or Virgo, receive a subtle but powerful assistance (making things unusually easier) in any transformative work with those keys, while keys at 17° to 19° of Scorpio or Pisces are supplied with a regenerative stimulus that can be profitable in many ways if channeled with respect and care.

Another thing we can see visually is that Pluto is only significantly interacting with Jupiter next year, since the only other line that crosses his is Jupiter’s. Jupiter-Pluto interactions are often about wealth or power, the energy of extreme and intense faith, overpowering, overwhelming or over complicated situations. They also bring great opportunities for spiritual regeneration and renewal. We see that Jupiter is in Libra at both of these times, and that therefore their interaction is a square aspect. We also see that the critical degrees and times concerned with this square are 19° at the end of March and 17° at the beginning of August. Looking more closely, we can note that the August square closely coincides with a lunar eclipse, while the March square follows just after the first New Moon following the January solar eclipse (annular, not total). The crossing points of the various curly lines on the graph below are world events, astrologically speaking, and so they tend to represent things happening in the news. When there is a nexus or co-incidence of different crossing points we are looking at very complex interactions and, very likely, more significant events. Interaction between Jupiter and Pluto tends to be explosive and incendiary or to lead to a gross exaggeration or rapid acceleration of things which seem out of control. The square between the signs of Libra and Capricorn is very difficult for diplomacy or lasting agreements (echoing an opposition between Uranus and Jupiter discussed later in this article) and will often involve legal and judicial structures, establishment structures, political bodies and entities, law and order, social justice or injustice and the urge to regenerate arising from conflicts in these areas amid widespread cultural polarisation and tension as powerful forces take control and force transformations. It’s important that we understand here that this interaction between Jupiter and Pluto is not new to 2017, and that it is in fact parts 2 and 3 of a sequence which began in November of 2016.

While this is interesting, I feel it is more important to point out certain things that make it relevant to the practice of both conduction and collective astrology. If you have made the choice to undertake a conduction of a Pluto activation in 2017, having a key you want to transform at or near 17° to 19° of Capricorn, then the interaction between Jupiter and Pluto at the end of March and the beginning of August 2017 requires extra caution and restraint of some kind on your part. The tendency of Jupiter at these times to cause an exaggeration or an over-extension or possibly overoptimism during these times is extremely challenging and may need to be accounted for. Things tend to balloon alarmingly as lofty, utopian ideals are in a turbulent mix here, and you may be doing your own personal interaction with that and need to deflate expectations. Now is not the time to risk anything precious, either. These are just far more complex or tricky times to be conducting any Jupiter or Pluto activation.

In terms of using this graph in practical ways collectively it can easily identify when specific tribes can act with Pluto (in this case) as their activator. All you need to do is examine the history of Capricorn 17°-19° over the last 80-90 years. As an example of how this is done, examine the following:

Neptune was at Capricorn 17°-19° between January 1992 – December 1993 (excluding periods from July – November 1992 and February – July 1993) so that part of the Neptune in Capricorn tribe can act on their agenda with Pluto as an activator this year. All of these people have Pluto activating the Neptune key. This means everyone who is between the ages of about 23-25 has an opportunity to band together to work on their Neptune agenda and to channel the power of Pluto into it.

Uranus was at Capricorn 17°-19° between March – June 1992, December 1992 – February 1993 and July – December 1993, so that part of the Uranus in Capricorn tribe can act on their agenda with Pluto as an activator this year. All of these people have Pluto activating the Uranus key. This means everyone who is between the ages of about 24-25 and is born in these periods has an opportunity to band together to work on their Uranus agenda and to channel the power of Pluto into it. Note that people born in 1992 are being given lots of attention by Pluto in 2017 – he is activating the collective Uranus/Neptune conjunction of that period.

Chiron was last at Capricorn 17°-19° in 1953, meaning that the people who will be 64 next year – all of whom belong to the Chiron in Capricorn tribe – can act on their agenda with Pluto as an activator this year. All of these people have Pluto activating the Chiron key. One possibility here is that of working together to transform their healing potential.

Saturn was last at Capricorn 17°-19° in 1990 (January and February, then August – November), 1960/61 (March – June, then December 1960 and January 1961), and in 1931 (January/February and July – November) meaning that the people who will be 56-57 next year and on the verge of their 2nd Saturn returns can act on their Saturn in Capricorn issues with Pluto as an activator this year. Two other groups aged 27 and 86 stand beside them with a comparable and sympathetic activation. All of these people have Pluto activating the Saturn in Capricorn key and stand on the cusp of a Saturn return. One possibility here is that of passionately (obsessively?) working together to build or preserve something that will outlast them. Many others exist.

Jupiter was last at Capricorn 17°-19° in March, June/July and November of 2008. Thus, every child born in those times has a Jupiter in Capricorn key being activated by Pluto next year. This is a young group of people, so we have to outfit the astrology to their experience. These 8-9 year olds will feel a powerful influence shaping their developing relationship with Jupiter, it will be a profound year for them in terms of their relationship with Jupiter and will set the stage there for most of their lives in some deep manner. Some older generations exist who will be going through an adult version of this collective experience, and they are born in 1996 in April/May or November/December (thus about 21 years old in 2017), in December of 1984 (thus aged 33 next December), in December 1972/January 1973 (aged 44-45 in 2017), in January of 1961 (aged 56 in 2017), in January/February of 1949 (aged 68 in 2017), or in February, March, August, September or October of 1937 (to be 80 in 2017). Virtually all of these people have Jupiter in Capricorn at 17-19° (a tiny number may not, but will still be close enough to count). They can do much work together with Pluto as an assist or energizer in 2017, provided they direct their efforts at a positive goal related to the essential meaning of Jupiter in Capricorn. Pluto can also intensify the bonds between these tribal members, no matter the age gap. He can also help them access more profound wealth in terms of the riches of realising what happens when we pool our collective faith and wisdom together. What appear to be miracles can then occur.

What’s also interesting, and potentially very powerful, is that we can also say whose Sun key will be activated by Pluto in 2017. The Sun is between 17° and 19° at the same time every year, starting at around January 6/7th and ending around January 8/9th. This means that anyone born on or near to those days in any year is having Pluto activating the Sun key. If you have a birthday on or near those days, no matter how old you are, major life transformations are either already with you or are coming and there is potent Plutonian power radiating from you next year. This will be a very profound once in a lifetime transformation the like of which you have never experienced before. It may be scary, requiring you to call upon hidden reserves of courage and willpower, and it may lead to losses of things you do not want to relinquish, but whatever you have to let go of is part of what needs transformation. If any of these people also belong to any of the groups mentioned above – i.e. they are 8-9, 21, 23-25, 27, 33, 44-45, 54, 56-57, 64, 68, 80 or 86 years old in 2017 – they can act as power sources for that groups activities. They can act as power generators for any kind of Pluto focused work, in fact, but especially in these cases. These individuals can lead and focus collective activities related to Pluto in 2017. They are forces to be reckoned with who bring regeneration and rebirth, but they may also become destructive.

All of this is worth thinking over very carefully. It’s not something astrology is used to showing us, not something we are used to seeing. But now it does, and we do, and it comes because of the discoveries of the modern planets. It wasn’t possible before then in any way like the way it is now. And my question is this – what could happen if people realised these opportunities not only through working with their own clans, i.e. as all the Jupiter in Capricorn people can with Pluto in 2017, but by working truly collectively with all the other people receiving Pluto activation in the same year, on some collective goal that resonated with Capricorn, or on some goal for which they join forces with any other group mentioned in these articles to achieve?

Are you with me? Astrology is only just beginning to reveal these possibilities to us. With that said, after a handy recap, on to Neptune…

AGE GROUPS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: 8-9, 21, 23-25, 27, 33, 44-45, 54, 56-57, 64, 68, 80 or 86. If you have a birthday in 2017 in which you turn this age, there may be something to help you in the above text.

BIRTHDAYS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: January 6th – 9th (in any year). Year of major life transformation. Not for the faint-hearted, so stay cool. Try to perceive the need for near total regeneration or rebirth and go with it. If your birthday is just before these days or in late December you are coming out of such a transformation (and so may able to counsel others going through it) and if your birthday is just ahead the situation is beginning to build up and will affect you more strongly next year or the year after. Every Capricorn person born after January 9th should be preparing for this activation to arrive before the mid 2020s.

NEPTUNE ACTIVATIONS IN 2017

qyftkpfqzv4-wil-stewart

In 2017, Neptune moves between 9° and 14° of Pisces. It only spends a few weeks of the year at 9°, but I will count that degree in anyway because of the windows of opportunity described in The 26 Keys (by account of that, we could add a few more degrees nearby on either side, too – I am just being focused and specific in this presentation). So if you have any key at 9°-14° of Pisces, prepare for it to be Neptunised! Anything nearby that on either side is also being enchanted by this planet.

The foggy square between Saturn and Neptune that showed up everywhere in 2016 is lifting in 2017. Note that in the graph Neptune only interacts with Jupiter through the year, three times, but for the first two times (mid May and early July) Jupiter is in Libra – no major aspect to Pisces, so many astrologers will not attribute much significance to it. The inconjunct between the two can bring complicated or awkward ideological issues, however, and tends to clumsy or confused diplomacy. Jupiter enters Scorpio in October, however, and then moves fast to make a Watery trine with Neptune in Pisces in early December – a major aspect. Note also that as the year goes on, the degree position of the Full Moon in the zodiac draws closer and closer to the degree position of Neptune, until finally it occurs in sync with Neptune just as it forms the trine with Jupiter, at the start of December. This Full Moon, though, is in Gemini and so is in a square to Neptune in Pisces, which could overstimulate and cause subjective distortions arising from overstimulating. This is still a good sign that working with any Neptune activation next year builds towards a major climax at the end of the year, and with the Jupiter in Scorpio (highly occult) trine providing an easy and probably fortuitous outcome at that. So this is tremendous news for anyone with a key at Pisces 9°-14° (or nearby) who is seeking initiatory progress or enlightenment. In fact it’s great news for anyone working with a Neptune activation of one of their keys next year. Things start to get lucky with that following the entrance of Jupiter into Scorpio. And all of this is especially significant for anyone with any key at Pisces 11°, because its where that end of year climax is taking place. So, if your birthday is on or nearby March 2nd (March 1st in a leap year), then you also get a spotlight from this Neptune effect. Intuition, compassion and psychic receptivity are on course for a boost, but watch out for that over-thinking, subjective distortion, vacillation, second-guessing and doubt stemming from the Full Moon in Gemini. Fact check your intuitive information without sewing these seeds.

People with birthdays (in any year) on or between February 28th – March 5th have a Sun key being activated by Neptune in 2017. This is a year of visions, dreams and fantasies for these individuals, and so people who benefit from these or enjoy them (writers, artists, musicians, poets, etc.) will be more attuned to it and make more conscious use of its effect. Others may grow very confused. No matter who you are the muses are not going away, no matter what you do. It will be better to find a way to channel them into something, or they can create confusing delusions of self identity. Meditation and psychic development can truly come alive for these people, too, and at the collective level they can be both power sources for the activities they join with and ideologues and icons for it. They have the right qualities, time and place to express the collectives imagination in these cases, as well as to subtly influence it. This Neptune activation is another once in a lifetime event – a major refinement of the Sun key (the individual self awareness, the awareness of what makes us uniquely who we are) is taking place.

Aside from this, the graph also shows us Neptune going stationary and turning to direct motion mid-June, and stationing and then turning to direct at the end of November just before the aforementioned climax in terms of Neptune occurs. This indicates that generally speaking all the fables of 2017 are coming in with the tide until mid June, at which point the stories and themes of the year enter a retrospective period until the end of November and start of December, and then they continue to unwind in a forwards direction carried by the momentum of the meeting with Jupiter and the Full Moon.

Neptune’s movement through 9° to 14° of Pisces with an end of year emphasis at 11° also influences and affects everything placed between 9° to 14° of the other Reactive/Mutable signs, which are Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius. Neptune is influencing keys in these places with distortions and illusions that need to be seen through before the vision of what is possible clarifies and reveals something enlightening. This confusion may cluster, compound or substantiate around the Full Moon of early December. A workable strategy in this case is to spend 2017 figuring out what may need to be sacrificed as too idealistic or wishful in that keys area of life. We can also say that Neptune will be helping keys at 9° – 14° of the other two Water signs, Cancer and Scorpio, helping conduction of those keys by supplying an easy to integrate flowing of empathy and imagination, potentially leading to psychic development. Additionally, keys at 9° to 14° of Capricorn or Taurus will be receiving a stimulus from Neptune all year that helps to open the imagination to new possibilities.

As far as the collective practice is concerned, we can note the following:

There are no living generations of Pluto in Pisces. Nobody has Neptune activating the Pluto key in 2017.

Neptune entered Pisces in April 2011 and finally leaves it early in 2026. In other words, all the souls being born now are part of this tribe, still being born. This tribe is stocked full of imaginer’s, dreamers, musicians, mystics, peacemakers, poets, empaths, psychic sensitives and potential drug addicts (pharmacy drugs as well as recreational substances, although by the time this theme shows up the drugs under consideration will be very different to the ones we have today). Most of this tribe feel a yearning for a clean, vibrant life on and in the ocean, too.

Uranus was last in Pisces starting in March 2003 and finishing in March 2011. This means that the movement of Neptune in 2017 is activating part of this tribe. The core of the population being affected in this way are born between April 2005 and December 2007, excluding August 2005 – January 2006 and March – November 2007, with those being born near to these periods also experiencing a strong effect. Therefore, we are talking about 10 to 12 year-olds (with a still notable effect on all those from about 8 – 14 years of age). For these children and teenagers there is likely to be a strong empathic response to 2017, with their feelings being both complicated and deep, perhaps confusing or scattered or difficult to pin down as well. They may sense conspiracy theories and deceptions in multiple arenas and should not be dismissed if they voice their concerns. Those children who are in the habit of doing meditation will gain the most from this period, as it will stimulate all of their empathic abilities and perhaps lead to a psychic development. Other children will have many questions about the various possibilities before them which they perceive, and may need to navigate through a maze guided by a vision. Collectively, it is the task of adults who are nurturing these children to understand that this is a critical time in the development of both their imagination and their concept of human society and an opportunity to enlighten them about compassion and empathy. Children born between February 28th and March 5th (give or take a day or two ) in any year at all but particularly in the period 2005 – 2007 are especially attuned to this years movement of Neptune, as it will also be activating their Sun keys, as explained above. The mystical potential of these souls is piercing all the veils in 2017, and the key to it all is again empathy and compassion. If spiritual interests do not apply the development of the imagination and appreciation of music will be enriched.

Chiron initially entered Pisces in April 2010 and will not completely leave until February 2019 (2018 is his transition year between Pisces and Aries). It was at 9° to 14° of Pisces between May 2012 and January 2015, excluding July 2012 – February 2013 and March – September 2014. Therefore, we are looking at an even younger generation of Chiron in Pisces people here. They are only about 2 – 5 years old. It’s very difficult to say what Neptune activation of their Chiron key will signify in 2017, but we can say for certain that it has something to do with Pisces. It’s possible that this will be a formative year in the development of the imagination or empathy. It’s also possible that they may become more sensitive to pathogens in the environment or additives and chemicals in their food. An older generation of Chiron in Pisces (March 1960 to January 1969) – who may now be the grandparents or great uncles and aunts of this younger generation – may hold some of the keys. The core of the population in this older generation of Chiron in Pisces having activation by Neptune were all born between April 1962 and January 1965, excluding August 1962 – February 1963, and March – October 1964. They will be 52-55 years of age in 2017. For these people we can expect 2017 to offer them ways of using the imagination to put pieces of things together, spiritual healing experiences, mystical, initiatory or magical experiences often being accompanied by visions or dreams, and overall seeking or yearning for something intangible. The Chiron key typically encourages a collective piecing together of different perspectives to create a whole and Neptune applies insight and imagination to that.

Saturn was last in Pisces between January 1994 and April 1996, wherein it occupied 9° to 14° of Pisces between March 1994 and March 1995 (excluding September 1994 – January 1995). So here we are looking at a generation of Saturn in Pisces people who are about 22 – 23 years old in 2017. All of them have a Neptune activation of the Saturn in Pisces key. There is an older generation of Saturn in Pisces souls (March 1964 to March 1967) joining these younger ones in 2017, with Saturn then at 9° to 14° of Pisces between March 1965 and January 1966, excluding May – August of 1965. These people are all about 51 – 52 years old in 2017. The final surviving generation of Saturn in Pisces (February 1935 to April 1937) have souls among them with Saturn between 9° and 14° of Pisces born between May 1935 and March 1936, excluding July 1935 – July 1936. These people are all about 81 – 82 years of age in 2017. Together, these three generations can bridge the gaps in 2017 with the help of Neptune – they can apply greater imagination to the agenda of Saturn in Pisces, or evoke into concrete form the practical application of its enormous potential for empathy and compassion. There is great potential for each of these generations to grasp something about how to practically apply and use the spiritual truths that bind us all together – the universal need for peace, for example. Fear and phobia may need to be faced where present and can be dissolved.

Jupiter was last in Pisces between January 2010 and January 2011, with Jupiter at 9° to 14° of Pisces in February/March of 2010. Previous to this, we find the following:

1) Jupiter in Pisces February 1998 to February 1999, with Jupiter at 9° to 14° of Pisces in March and April 1998.
2) Jupiter in Pisces February 1986 to March 1987, occupying 9° to 14° in March and April 1986.
3) Jupiter in Pisces March 1974 to March 1975, occupying 9° to 14° from April to June 1974, August – October 1974 and again November 1974 – January 1975 (due to a retrograde).
4) Jupiter in Pisces March 1962 to April 1963, occupying 9° to 14° from May to August 1962 and again in January/February 1963 (once again due to retrograde).
5) Jupiter in Pisces April 1950 to April 1951, occupying 9° to 14° January and February 1951.
6) Jupiter in Pisces May 1938 to May 1939, occupying 9° to 14° in February/March 1939.
7) Jupiter in Pisces January 1927 to January 1928, occupying 9° to 14° in February/March 1927.

In 2017, the age groups of all of these people will be about 7-8, 19, 31, 42-43, 54-55, 66, 78 or 89-90 years old. So if someone is having a birthday in this age range in 2017 and they are born in any of the periods connected with 9° – 14° Pisces listed above, then Neptune will be activating their Jupiter key in 2017. Being born in these age ranges and near to these periods also brings an effect. On a purely mundane level, all these people will be more prone to dream big in 2017 (both consciously while awake and unconsciously while asleep). The activation of the Jupiter key by Neptune can bring a great deal of hope, faith and inspiration, optimism, idealism and spiritual growth. It elaborates the poetry of the fable of life. It adds to meditative enlightenment or initiation, quantitatively and qualitatively. In the negative it can evoke spiritual dogma, elusiveness, willingness to believe in an illusion or escape into pure fantasy, and it can make us lazy and wasteful or opportunistic with the imaginations entertainments. As with all things connected with Jupiter, any effect multiplies and enlarges or expands when these individuals find one another and work together. One of the more powerful ways this kind of activation can be used by a collective is in the seeking of a vision of hope or truth. This example, however, is just one among too many to list. Astrological seekers among them may also find clarity on Neptune’s connection to Pisces.

AGE GROUPS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: 2-5, 7-8, 10-12, 19, 22-23, 31, 42-43, 51-52, 52-55, 54-55, 66, 78, 81-82, 89-90. If you have a birthday in 2017 in which you turn this age, there may be something to help you in the above text.

BIRTHDAYS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: February 28th – March 5th (in any year). Year of vision and imagination, potential drowsiness or dreaminess or psychic awakening. Major assistance for all meditation, increased emotional receptivity. Major encounter with Neptune which can involve vivid dreams, receptivity to music,  disillusionment, escape into fantasies (such as VR), nebulous yearnings and a loss of boundaries. Individual self awareness may melt, dissolve or become mysterious. If your birthday is just before these days you are coming out of such a transformation (and so may able to counsel others going through it) and if your birthday is just ahead the situation is beginning to build up and will affect you more strongly next year or the year after. Every Pisces person born after March 5th should be preparing for this activation to arrive before the mid 2020s.

URANUS ACTIVATIONS IN 2017

82gjggdid-u-elaine-casap

Uranus is now beginning to explore the third decan of Aries (20°-30°), and 2017 is the last full year of Uranus in Aries. Over the course of 2017 it moves from 20° to 28°, turning retrograde at 28° of Aries in August to place extra emphasis on 25° to 28° in the last quarter of the year. Any key at 20° to 28° of Aries will receive Uranus activation in 2017, but keys at 25°-28° will get an extended activation beginning in August. Uranus interacts with the Full Moon cycle in February (when it is 1° away from a trine with the lunar eclipse), in the first half of March (but the Full Moon in Virgo does not make any major aspect to Aries), but has a 3° separation from opposition to the April Full Moon in Libra. These are all times of strong Uranian influence. The New Moon dallies with Uranus in Aries in 2017 in August when a total solar eclipse at 28° of Leo brings the Fire (this is the only total solar eclipse of the year and it will be visible across all of North America, while at the same time being on the ascendant and Mars of President Trump). This shows that 28° of the Fire signs but especially Aries or Leo receive a dose of Uranian eclipse energy in 2017. For many with any emphasis here this will actually be lucky in some way, or lead to a new appreciation of freedoms. The New Moon in Libra on October 19th will be in a tight opposition to Uranus in Aries, while the New Moon in Sagittarius on December 18th will be within reach of a trine. The New Moon in Libra opposition on October 19th can cause breakups and disagreements which lead to divergent paths, and to confusion in diplomacy or relating which arise from the mysteriousness of a partners position. It is an opportunity to re-balance scales and reset negotiations when they are constipated, and can also help with starting new relationships. The Sagittarius New Moon trine with Uranus (December 18th) is much better for making fresh starts that don’t involve messy breaks, and for moving forwards with projects (especially when they are related to Uranus, Fire or the Moon). It is also quite romantic but wild and difficult to tame, embodying a gypsy heart, so it may not be able to help form long term bonds. Additionally, it doesn’t have the same power to firmly end formerly disruptive associations or to reset things.

The long-running square between Uranus and Pluto is now separating and reaches its furthest separation so far (of 11°) in August. Neptune does not interact with Uranus and Chiron only forms a minor aspect at the end of July, but one which then spreads itself over the last half of the year to tighten again at the end. This semi-sextile is also in signs that are contra-antisicia, though, so it could be significant. If so, it points to awkward stages in any healing quest, and to a need to consider necessary and different if painful options. Saturn in Sagittarius forms two trines with Uranus in Aries, part of a sequence which begins at the end of 2016. These two trines are exact in mid-May and the first half of November 2017, the first at 26° and the second at 25°. These trines are at least potentially adding a lot of stability to the Fire of Uranus in Aries, which is often spontaneous and erratic and difficult to direct. The assistance of Saturn in Sagittarius helps to focus and persistently channel the often unwieldy energy of Uranus in Aries. Conversely, the often pessimistically inclined narrow and targeted course of Saturn in Sagittarius benefits from a more freewheeling, less dogmatic or structured open door policy of Uranus in Aries. If you are conducting activations made by either Saturn or Uranus or working with Fire this year, this interaction is definitely worth bearing in mind as it offers much that is both achievable and exciting. However, Saturn and Uranus do not mix well together at all – that’s why they need Chiron to mediate between them – so there is likely to be tension even with an aspect like the trine, and especially when Fire is the driving force involved. To extract these positive potentials, then, such difficulties need to be prepared for.

Like Saturn, Jupiter is completing a sequence of interaction with Uranus in 2017 which it begins in late 2016. This is a sequence of three oppositions, the two in 2017 occurring in early March and late September. The first opposition is at 22° of Aries/Libra and takes place before a Full Moon in Virgo and the second is at 27° after a New Moon in Virgo. The opposition between Jupiter and Uranus can produce big surprises, big shocks involving things breaking down or falling apart. It is not a good omen for diplomacy or agreements which stick, and can involve surprises in that arena. It is basically a period in which growth happens in unexpected ways and with consequences that quickly grow out of control and lead to further unforeseen consequences. Radical and widespread changes are often being forced from some angle and are unavoidable. The Aries/Libra axis points towards creative powers, relationships, diplomacy, conflicts and an “us versus them” mentality driving things. So these are periods in which we must all expect some major upsets to the status quo no matter who we are, but this is especially true for people with keys at or near to 22° or 27° of Aries or Libra, or the other Active/Cardinal signs, Cancer and Capricorn, and particularly if such people are actively engaged in turning them. On the positive side this energy can be channeled towards making positive changes, but it has to do so without becoming unsympathetic to the views of those who see things differently, otherwise it manifests as a breathtaking ramping up of tensions. We should watch closely how this opposition manifests at the end of 2016 and try to discern what the overall theme is for the two later oppositions, on both a personal and collective scale.

The movement of Uranus in Aries from 20° to 28° brings challenges to everyone with keys at 20° to 28° of any of the Active/Cardinal signs. These challenges are, in the typical Uranian form, about needing to accept some kind of radical change being surprisingly thrust upon you or logically encountered as a result of our own past choices. In order to navigate such challenges we have to respond to the call for change by making actual changes – only thinking or talking about them just complicates it all, and there is a real tendency to do that, and with Aries this leads to impatient and demanding outbursts of selfishness. If you have been hungering for a change of some kind, a big one, then the good news is that if you have a key in this area of the zodiac that resonates with what you want to change then you can expect that to be on your doorstep in 2017. However, you must be careful not to leave a terrible wake of destruction behind you. The specific effect of Uranus activation obviously depends a lot upon the key that is being activated, but in general it strongly tends to accelerate the rate at which things happen, even if that is just the speed at which our panicked thoughts fly. This acceleration is sometimes part of what shakes things up or is what arises from things being shaken up.

Those who have a key at 20° to 28° of any other Fire sign – Leo or Sagittarius – will find that the acceleration provided by Uranus in Aries over the course of 2017 helps them to move forward rapidly in any conduction work designed around the turning of those keys. Uranus is offering these people assistance that often comes in the form of coincidental or lucky meetings or happenings, fortuitous surprises and new opportunities. It is offering a similar assistance to anyone with a key at 20° to 28° of Gemini or Aquarius. For these people there is an opportunity to integrate the new or the original and to multiply the pleasures.

The Sun is at Aries 20° – 28° annually between about April 9th and 17th, so everyone with a birthday in this period or a few days near to it either side is having Uranus activate the Sun key. This is a big shake up, and its time for you to accept greater freedom and independence in your life but without shunning the assistance of others. To do that is to throw the lesson of Uranus activation back in its face, to deny the intimate connection and interdependence of the individual with the collective. We rise or fall together in his lightning filled eyes. You may be forced to make changes or bombarded with an array of complicated choices, all of which radically revolutionise your character. If you have been feeling trapped, the moment of your liberation approaches but it not be what you expect. Much depends on your treatment of others and how much consideration you give to a tableau of opinions. At the collective level you are also able to bring change, radical change, especially if you are born in any of the periods highlighted in this section. You have the ability to present alternatives and to encourage the development of new ideas but also the potential to stir things up. Things can get easily out of control around you, though, so its best not to be a leader but instead to focus on inspiring the egregore. Mark it in your calendar – 2017 is the time to embrace new beginnings.

npruzyzgfa0-nathan-anderson

Opportunities at the collective level are as follows:

There are no living generations of Pluto in Aries. There are therefore no Pluto keys being activated by Uranus in 2017.

There are no living generations of Neptune in Aries either, although one is about to begin arriving in the mid 2020s.

The only people who have Uranus in Aries and are getting a Uranus activation will have either just been born (and are thus becoming accustomed and given very early exposure to their own Uranian ways, but this will only happen to babies born after August – retrogradations are another important shaping of collective astrology to consider here) or are in their early to mid 80s and will be having their Uranus return. Uranus was last in Aries from January 1928 to March 1935. It occupied 20° to 28° of Aries between April 1932 and May 1934, excepting November 1932 – February 1933 and June – October 1934. This means that the people born between about April 1932 and May 1934 are all having their Uranus returns in 2017. They will be 83-85 years old. The Uranus return is a collective activation that acts as a capstone to a mortal life story. It shows us just how much things have changed since we came in – virtually nothing is the same – and yet (paradoxically, as is typical of Uranus) at the same time we begin to recognise the cyclical nature of history as we see the things we have seen before arriving again, only dressed up differently. At this time, it is important for us to try to integrate the changes that we have seen throughout the course of our entire lives, and this often requires the support of those who care for us. If we are unable to integrate the scale of change that we have witnessed, then we increase the onset of problems like dementia and forgetfulness. For some, however, there is a “second wind” of life, a feeling that we can begin again despite or perhaps because of our years. I once met a woman who took up skydiving and mountain hiking when the Uranus return arrived. Other people return to their infancy in other ways.

The last journey of Chiron through Aries began in January 1969 and extended through to March 1977. He was occupying 20° to 28° of Aries between June 1973 and March 1977, except for periods between September 1973 – April 1974 and parts of December 1974/January 1975 as well as May – October 1976. So everyone born in that time has a Uranus activation of the Chiron key in 2017. These people are all about 40 – 44 years old in 2017. The opportunity here is for these people to work together in building bridges and spreading healing through the collective awareness. The Aries influence in the backdrop of this key will make them want to take action and the action they will be seeking to take is likely to be varied and unpredictable but focus in some way on some aspect of their Chiron in Aries agenda. The Warriors are being awakened, with many of them already active (since Uranus has already acted upon many of the Chiron in Aries keys). For an example of this, take a look at the story of the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock. The awakening by Uranus of the Chiron in Aries tribe – going on now since 2011 – is reaching its crescendo and is a powerful factor in this story. There is more awakening and quest calling to come in 2017.

Saturn’s visits to Aries over the past 90 years look like this:

1) April 1996 to March 1999, occupying 20° to 28° of Aries for a brief period in July and August 1997 and then between March and June 1998 and finally October 1998 – March 1999. These people are all about 18 – 20 years of age in 2017.
2) March 1967 to April 1969, occupying 20° to 28° of Aries between May – November 1968 and January – April 1969. These people are all about 48 – 49 years old in 2017.
3) April 1937 to March 1940, occupying 20° to 28° of Aries between April and June 1939 and September 1939 – March 1940. These people are all about 77 – 78 years old in 2017.

These people are having Uranus activation of the Saturn key in 2017. Unlike the matching but different Saturn activation of the Uranus key, this activation tends to liberate pressures rather than increase them. It can signify a wave of rebellion against authority and any repression of the freedom and the liberty of the people. These groups find the means to be systematic in any resistance. If the increased demands affecting these groups can somehow discipline them or organise them into a structure, powerful and long lasting pressure groups can be formed. Uranus activating the Saturn key also acts to generate the potential for surprises or unexpected outcomes for the status quo, rather than inhibiting them as Saturn activating the Uranus key tends to do. Uranus activating the Saturn key can also make interaction with authorities more diverse and chaotic in general, or lead to an encounter with the established authorities of the collective human awareness (the law, the police, the politicians etc.).

The generational pattern of Jupiter moving between 20° and 28° of Aries going back 90 years is given below:

1) April to June 2011 (age 6 in 2017).
2) May/June 1999, followed by October 1999 to February 2000 (age 17 – 18 in 2017).
3) May 1987 to March 1988 – a long period due to retrograde motion (age 29-30 in 2017).
4) June to October 1975, followed by February and March 1976 (age 41 – 42 in 2017).
5) February to April 1964 (age 53 in 2017).
6) March/April 1952 (age 65 in 2017).
7) April/May 1940 (age 77 in 2017).
8) April – June 1928 (age 89 in 2017).

All of these people are having a Uranus activation of the Jupiter key throughout 2017. This can lead to breakthroughs and major changes in fortune, often unexpectedly, and it can stimulate the spread of optimism and hope as well as Aries virtues such as bravery, courage and determination. The ability to connect with others and to grow through it is enhanced and accelerated. Working together in teams, these people can make wondrous discoveries in 2017, if they are bold enough. There is great potential for them to awaken the power of faith and hope, and discover new ways to share.

AGE GROUPS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: 6, 17-18, 18-20, 29-30, 40-44, 41-42, 48-49, 53, 65, 77, 77-78, 83-85, 89. If you have a birthday in 2017 in which you turn this age, there may be something to help you in the above text.

BIRTHDAYS MENTIONED IN THIS SECTION: April 9th – 17th. Year of new beginnings, major reversals and/or surprising unforeseens leading to radical change. Can be highly stressful. Need to keep an open mind, try out new ways and remain flexible as well as listen to the counsel of those in your court. Keep plans adaptable – a rigid, Saturn like approach may just continually fail because it is not appropriate. Likewise, resistance to change will bring it upon you in a way that feels forced. Can be an exciting time if you are adventurous. If your birthday is just before these days you are coming out of such a radical change (and so may able to counsel others going through it) and if your birthday is just ahead the situation is beginning to build up and will affect you more strongly next year or the year after. This is the final group of Aries people to receive activation apart from a small portion to receive it next year. All Taurus people should begin preparing for a similar activation in the next 7-8 years.

I hope you have enjoyed this first part of my report on 2017, in part 2 to be published before the New Year I will talk you through the same details for Saturn, Chiron and Jupiter.
